If this (https://www.motor1.com/news/563715/2023-nizzan-z-weight-order-guide/) is true then it looks like curb weight went from 3333lbs to 3486lbs in base trim, so its gained 153lbs. I was assuming the bulk of that was coming from the TT setup.
It is due to the water coolers, plumbing, turbos, and exchangers. The rest is probably some body and safety stuff.

The engine is "front mounted mid-ship" which is good. But I too would prefer oversteer than understeer. Such strange times that some prefer automatics and understeer in a performance car.

There's documentation from Nissan that very clearly states the weights of the VQ and VR powertrains, including the supporting accessories like heat exchangers. We've already been over it in some thread on this forum.

The VR powertrain is negligibly heavier.

Any other weight gain is typical of model revisions.

If it really gained only an extra 50lbs under the hood that's excellent.

I'm enjoying my modded 370 right now so I won't be getting ripped off by dealer markups since I don't need a new Z right off the bat. Good luck finding one! Availability will be low.
Nice! I doubt I will be ripped off as there are consumer protection laws in Canada and this is a direct pre-order from the factory. Should be here in June...

On the topic of understeer, They went .5 wider in the front to cure that (9.5x19, same size as the Nismo 370Z fronts)

Rears are still 10x19, same as before. If the Q60 RS is anything to go by with it's 9x19 rears and it's "wtf were they thinking?!" stock tires, it'll be plenty squirrely out back - It's not hard at all to make a RWD Q60 RS break loose.

I have the original Nismo 5-spoke 19" wheels (19x9.5 front, 19x10.5 rear) on my 370 and run 275's up front and 295's on the back. Got rid of the understeer the car originally had. Wish they would have gone with 10.5 on the rear on the 19" wheels.

I did 265/305 on Bridgestone S04 Pole Positions on my 370z, and couldn't get the rears to lose traction unless i clutch-kicked it. This was also EcuTek tuned w/Exhaust + Intake. That being said, with the VR torque of 350 @ 1600rpm, the tires will need to be upgraded in addition to suspension to keep wheels from spinning.

SG is without a doubt the first video I'm watching. Zero bullshit with SG, unlike many many others.
Agreed but I hope they spent some time driving the car on the street not just the track, otherwise their review won't be comprehensive. They loved the Elantra N on track this week but when they drove it on street they realized its daily driveability was highly questionable.
