Your dealer flat out lied to you. The Z is 91+ per the owner's manual. Putting 87 in would be just asking for reliability/durability problems.
Thanks for the reply, yeah they are not coming across as the most reliable people when it comes to this car, they are a bunch of dopes to be honest, thanks for the info and help.

Wait, weren't you the one just complaining that the Trucontrol sucks on another thread?🤣🤣🤣

I never said it sucked, only that many people have issues running it but the reason for their issue is simple, more boost and insufficient stock cooling is a recipe for disaster.

You're welcome! At least car salesmen and service advisors are all the same/predictable regardless of boarders!

I cannot imagine the performance diff with 87, I felt it in the butt gauge on the one occasion I had to use 91 due to a road trip. Maybe it was in my mind but I don't think so.

I have a sneaky suspicion the dealer will give me the car with a tank of 87. I have zero trust in them.

They absolutely will. Ask them to please not fill the tank.

A dealership put 87 in my C7 once, and I had to run 91 on a few occasions in both my C7 & C8... Horrible.
