Doing this would not affect any warranty unless you tried to make a warranty claim on the poppers not firing. Obviously that claim would be denied because you disconnected them.
A lot of our cost per gallon is federal taxes, not really the price of the refined gasoline we are buying. And of course depending on your state they get their cut too. I suppose in the commie states the counties and cities probably tax it as well.

Sinclair 93 is what I use and I get close to 30mpg on the hwy cruising 80-85mph.
24-25mpg around town.

You won't have any clearance issue with that link I posted. If you get one of the aftermarket undercovers with a service hatch oil changes only take a few minutes.
