Did that happen today in Socal?

I bought a Z1 duckbill V1 for my Sport trim. Also fixed the rash on the rim. I was careless in the late hours parking in OC . Still getting use to the Z, been parking like a foot away from the curb but I guess its one of those days.

Turned out good.

I have not rashed my wheels but I have driven the side onto a curb TWICE on the passenger side rocker panel by turning too tight. Argh. No real damage but scraped up the Bottom of the side skirt on the passenger side good. You cannot see it unless you lay on the ground thank goodness. I do WIDE turns around parking curbs now.

First time in a parking garage, so I rolled the windows down. Idling/moseying around. Gotta say I prefer the sound of my ‘03 VQ35 with test pipes a little more. May have heard turbo noise, but if so, it was more like a shop fan. Maybe it was loud cooling fans, idk. Don’t think I’d ever do open BOVs on this one, so I’ll never get the Blitz BOV sound I love. But would lIke to do an intake of some type of to hear the turbos more.

K&n drop-in filters added as soon as i got home from the stealership. so no Idea. But i‘m not sure i could feel 5-10hp adder at full boost. From looking at the oem, the k&n would have to be an adder.

can’t find / believe no one has a dyno with oem filters vs no filters vs k&n (or similar). maybe folks selling intakes do not want to know…. Now for 3” intakes, supposedly you need a tune….

If i was a tuner installing and doing dyno pulls on multiple intakes, i would do a pull with stock intake with the filters pulled as a base line.

An Australian tuner did that on a stock Z. He made a baseline pull and then pulled the factory filters and made another pull. No measurable was found.

Nice! FWIW you will be pretty happy with the sound if you ever decide to go to open filters. I just installed the mishimoto CAIs and now I don't turn the radio on hahaha

Got the Z1 short shifter with those Z1 shift mount bushings and a Eight Ball knob. Holy cow arw the shifts SHORT and Hard. Getting used to it, zero play or grind ever. Really gotta shift with intention but feels like I imagine a race car does.

Liking the 8 ball

I went with Torque Solutions and BilletWorkz Fusion knob in custom green. Shifting is so much better with 2nd gear as butter now. Rev hang at higher RPMs doesnt phase the short throw and slamming gears is more enjoyable
