I’m pretty sure the price difference from a base 370 and sport touring 370 was around $9k so the price difference doesn’t surprise me. It is essentially the same difference in options here. I was also hoping for a max of $45k but I won’t be able to afford it for a few years anyway.

Idk, just too many people claiming to have inside info saying this and that. Some supporting info in OP, while others contradicting. All I know is Monday can come soon enough.

Yeah but this info comes from a guy that we physically saw driving a Z …it’s not like they are easy to get a hold of…only media who were given prices etc at the time would be in one, the reason for the embargo was to hide details like the price and drive experience

Looks like it was an $8,000 price difference apples-to-apples (7AT version is the only one available for the ST):

This is exactly why Nissan would be wise to offer the equivalent of what was the 370 "Sport" trim. I think that's all many, myself included, are asking for. Well, that and not raising the general price of the car roughly 30% overall

It was funny the guy got pulled over while doing 110-120mph on 5th gear, you could hear him swearing and that’s why probably he cut the driving short. But again he seems legit, and the pricing seems aligned with Aussi announcement, probably their’s drive away price. Wish we had as much options as US has, all the vettes and stangs even a base model Z. I could easily invest 10-15k and make the base Z as I want it

Exactly…apart from the Mustang, nothing else is in the price range.
Would love a C8, a new lotus Emira, maybe a Porsche…
but all are way out of the price range
I don’t really want to buy second hand either, I like having a warranty and being aware and in control of how the car has been treated, and with the second hand prices these days it’s not worth the risk

For the same reason I didn't buy the G37 base model

I'm not going to take a brand new $45k car and open up the rear differential

I had complete failure on my rear diff on my G37 when I added 4.08 gearing

Rear differentials need to be installed 100% perfect and balanced , like they come from the factory , to avoid any issues.

And not only that , getting a high quality aftermarket LSD installed would run at least $2k - $3k

Despite what all of these "rich people" (compared to me) are talking about, if it turns out that the Perf is $50K, and my trade-in is not enough to get down to my very realistic car loan limit, I would probably try to get a Sport Auto. I never learned how to drive manual, and I don't intend to go through clutches in a $40K - $55K car. I'm moving to the San Francisco area, so an LSD isn't strictly necessary. Doing donuts in a parking lot might be fun, but I'll just have to slum it carving mountain roads and enjoying the car itself.

Of course, if none of that happens, I'll just have to lease a GR86/BRZ.

I would not go that route UNLESS you know a very good differential tech. I put a Quaife in my RB 240Z but that cost a lot properly installed. You will be closer to Performance pricing and still won't have big brakes, susp bits and tuning, interior tech etc.
