Yeah, most sports cars are less limited by their power production than by their aerodynamics or other components. Like TheRoyalStig mentioned, the electronic limiters are set below other points of limitation rather than to the maximum ability of the engine based upon its output.
I believe that...
Every time I am close to just buying a Supra (since they seem more plentiful, in general, and I like the yellow), I see one of these side-by-side comparisons and am reminded of *just* how much better looking the Zed is.
While I don't know if it's a complete design-home-run (rear treatment is a little questionable) you have to applaud this kind of thing coming from a major manufacturer. A large, stylish coupe with EV and ICE options, both of which will be performance-oriented? Bravo, Dodge.
I'm finding in that, in South FL, it's a combination of general scarcity and overpricing where Supra sales are concerned. Still seeing dealer markups even for pre-owned examples and you have to cast a rather wide net to find a specific color/set of options.
I was thinking about this over the weekend as I was perusing Zs for sale online. I wonder what is truly suppressing the demand for a vehicle that was, at least within a section of the automotive community, very highly anticipated. Is it the price, like the actual MSRP? Maybe it has to do with...
Still yet to see one in SWFL. Evidently the dealership in Naples has had 3, to this point, but I'm guessing that they weren't sold to locals. How silly is it to more regularly see LaFerraris than bloody Zs?
I suspect that the North American market will get this color but that it will be treated as something of a "special" reveal, perhaps in the spring of 2024. Something to drum up interest before summer and make people forget that they cannot have a red Zed 😂
I think I agree, though I could take or leave either of them from an aesthetic design perspective.
Really, it's the *type* of vehicle that interests me most. We might be finally starting to get the kind of electric sports cars (not supercars) that the modular skateboard platform promises. They...
Price combined with overall scarcity, definitely. It is far easier to overlook the baked-in issues that the 350 and 370 had because, outside of the top-tilt variants, they were rather inexpensive (I think I paid like $35K new for mine back in 2017) sports cars. It does get harder to justify for...
The VQ37 is definitely a coarse-revving engine. If I wanted to spin it positively, I guess I could say that it's "visceral-feeling" but mileage may vary on that point.
Yes! I noticed that too! I saw Sport trims in FL listed in the mid $50K range, early on, and even still. Most of the Performance trims had some add-on, but it was proportionally less (like $5-10K)
Yeah, the impressions I've read indicated that it doesn't really feel much faster in a straight line than the performance. Perhaps it's easier to launch, though, which could result in those better times.
