Or maybe try with different settings of customization to see the software may think the RPMs need to be infinite or something. If you overwrite the hypothetical buggy software setting with a new value, maybe it'll come back?
Definitely, I'm going to mess with it endlessly in the garage this evening prior to storming in there ?

I really appreciate the suggestions, folks here are extremely supportive of the community and it's something to be proud of and thankful for ?

Oh, I had, yes! When you set it to "off" the actual bar disappears from the screen whereas mine is present but simply not animating.
I was thinking that maybe by accident the customization was set on red, because you can change the color of the upshift and stuff.

When I was installing an accessory and I disconnected the battery’s negative post some stuff reset after 30 minutes. Worst case scenario I would factory reset it through the settings in the driver’s side AND use the secret menu to reset it everything.

I mean worst case scenario contact nissan USA, create an RMA ticket and have them work with a dealership of your choice so they can look a it.

Hmmm, I a) wasn't aware that one could change the colors for the shift indicator (I figured it always went green-yellow-red) and b) I'm not sure what this "secret menu" is or what it would do...

So, curious, I went and played around with my settings, turning it off and then back to auto mode. Then I drove to an appointment, and I'm not sure, but I think mine may have stopped working too. I need to get back out there and check it out.

Does the car have to be moving, or can you just sit on your garbage edit: garage and rev the engine?

Okay. First, thanks for giving me a reason to go zipping around in my car. Both auto mode and customization settings seem to be working for me. I guess I didn't rev high enough running my errands yesterday. Today I had a mission.

In auto mode, I'm seeing the first green bar light up passing through 4000 rpm, the second lit at about 5500 rpm, and the first yellow lights up passing through 6000 rpm.

I used the lowest customization setting, and things light up very early, and even stay lit (e.g. driving at 50 mph in 4th).

If you're not seeing behavior like this, I'd go complain to Nissan.

Wait a minute.....do these lights work for some people in auto mode too?!?
From new, my shift lights only worked in manual mode, and I thought that it was supposed to work that way

Yes. driving home yesterday I was in ‘D’ and ’Standard’ in 3rd gear, was wriggling around doing something, accidentally hit the downshift paddle, it shifted down to 2nd and I saw the shift lights flicker (green and yellow). You can still shift manually in D, but it will start shifting on its own again.

Yes, because technically once you hit the paddle, you are in manual mode. But will the lights turn on if you leave it in full automatic?

In the name of science, one of you 9AT owners needs to go run some experiments. I did my part. ?

I was cruising yesterday and I forgot I left it on custom and never saw them light up, when I switch them to
Next time I take mine out, I’ll try in full manual, manual over ride, and full auto mode
I have 6mt also, I tested this yesterday to be honest, I had it on auto mode and it worked, when I hit upshift custom, I didn’t set it right and had the same issue the OP had about not showing up, as a matter of fact i completely forgot about it and was freaking out when I didn’t see the green>Yellow>Red and when I was going from 1st to 2nd and went into 7k rpm, I was testing something else but I reacted slow. I can understand how irritating it could had been for it to not work. I switched it back to Auto on the upshift indicator and it went back to normal.
