Here's an odd one I wonder if anyone has experienced - the shift indicator bar atop the screen in the Sport gauge view has suddenly stopped working. It is still visible but it will no longer perform its intended animation. I checked the settings, and it's still set the way I had it (goes red at 6,000 RPM) and I toggled that back to the default just to be sure.

Any ideas? I've not found anything online discussing this, specifically, just yet.

This isn't my actual screen, but this red bar is what I'm referring to (goes from green to yellow to red):

Press and hold the volume knob until the Nissan logo appears. That should reset the display, but not sure if that will fix the issue.

Edit: That actually resets the infotainment screen. I don’t know the outcome (losing settings/connections, etc) so proceed with caution.

I can’t find much out there.

One thing to definitely try is disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes. If it’s an electrical glitch, hopefully that fixes it.

If not, it could be something more substantial. Possible something has malfunctioned and your display controller is being told your RPM is continuously pegged (also electrical, issue with the TCM, or a bad sensor).

Just to double check Have you tried going in the driver settings and enabling/disabling the shift indicator? Don’t know if this might help

I may go the battery disconnect route if I can't get it to turn back on. Thankfully, the image I shared isn't mine so it's not the case that the car believes it is constantly being run at redline - it just won't animate at all, no green, no, yellow, no red.

Ah. I must have completely skipped over your last sentence. Also now noticing the tach is at 6400 in that pic with no boost or mph.

May be sort of the same situation though, display is being told incorrect RPM, or no RPM at all. It seems like if that were the case (something monitoring RPM has failed) that you would get a warning and/or CEL, but that’s speculation.

Hopefully a battery reset fixes it.

Well, the tachometer is functioning perfectly in every mode, so I don't imagine it's a sensor related to RPM detection or it'd be impacting that as well. It really seems to be strictly a display issue and only pertaining to that exact animation feature. It's very strange.

Exactly, I had an issue with my fuel gauge not accurately displaying level. I unplugged the negative terminal for at least 30 minutes and reconnected it. Whatever glitch that was causing it was cleared.

Hmmm, no dice on the issue clearing by disconnecting the negative. Is the duration critical, do you think? I left it off for about 10 minutes.

I found a thread online talking about the issue I had they recommended at 30 minutes.

Bah, nothing's producing results. I may actually have to take this over to Nissan  And it's such a trivial thing to have malfunction...

@Kbl911 did you try this? I saw that you liked the post, but you didn't report back that it was not OFF. This seems like the most likely scenario if the tach is working perfectly.

Oh, I had, yes! When you set it to "off" the actual bar disappears from the screen whereas mine is present but simply not animating.

Okay. Then you've got me. Very strange.

Or maybe try with different settings of customization to see the software may think the RPMs need to be infinite or something. If you overwrite the hypothetical buggy software setting with a new value, maybe it'll come back?
