Oh there will be delays. There always are. Otherwise there would be no need for a PR department ?

I just find it ironic the OP is saying to find good dealers but doesn’t mention his or hers. If it’s a good dealer, it shouldn’t be a secret. Take for example Granger Ford. There are no secrets they’re offering 2% under invoice for Mach 1’s and Broncos. They plaster it all over the various forums. The demand for the Bronco was and is exponentially higher than the Z.
Depends on your interpretation of "delay". My interpretation of "delay" is that it does not define the numbers of Zs to be manufactured, it merely defines when ANY number of Zs can be delivered. "Delay" would be Nissan commits to a date, and when that date passes not 1 Z has been delivered.

Nissan has already been manufacturing USDM Zs, they are coming off the production line. So, I believe there won't be any delays in getting at least a few Zs out to a few dealers. I guess if you interpret "delay" as a personal issue, yeah there will probably be a delay for you actually getting a Z. I think a few sources have already said the Z will only be built in limited numbers.

what $ in aus is $40k usd?
and did your dealer say your msrp may be?

Another factor that West Aussie didn't mention for the higher cost of cars in Australia is that we also generally get slightly higher specified vehicles compared to other markets.

In Australia it is common for our vehicles to come standard with features that in other markets would be options and these costs are built into the cost of the car and thus starting prices for our cars will be higher than a lot of markets.

For example we won't be getting the Sport model here only the Performance and Proto Spec so we would need to compare the price of the Performance spec in other markets to be a bit more fare. Not that this would change things as we would still be more expensive than most markets for the car.

Mine will. I'll post first picture of my Z before any of you. Not going to spar with you, focus on reputable dealers. Sorry, getting frustrated as I was sharing facts shared from dealer that I have conducted business with for a decade.
Not if Canada gets it first

'Limited' in the relative sense? Like how 2 seater sports cars are limited in scope and market share to begin with? Or 'limited' in that they don't even intend on building enough to meet projected demand over the lifespan of the model as part of their lineup?

If it's the latter, then I may have to tap out and move on to something else... at least for several years, given the situation with the market.

I'm not giving up hope just yet! But if life has taught me anything, it's that I have to prepare myself for disappointment.

They did not say how many, to be clear they are accepting what Nissan is shipping in this first allocation. These are not ordered cars. I will accept anything that is performance trim and a manual and will get first car received. They were lead to believe allocation is based on dealer volume, and they are largest dealer in my state. Hope this helps.
It is a similar story here in Canada at my dealer. Except the allocations went to the largest high volume dealers that dealt and specialised in GTRs and Zeds. Also, the regional manager of the entire dealer group said that we will actually get what we ordered and Nissan Canada contacted them to open up orders before the public reservation campaign. RM said Nissan would use this advanced orders to launch their first production run.

"Limited " as in "we need to conserve our resources to build as many Rogues and Pathfinders as possible, it's a pandemic, dontcha know?"

All I will say is if the guy on Facebook from Michigan is legit, it’s not promising. He said his dealership was getting just one

I can attest to that here in Canada as well, plus our safety standards are stricter than US so some of our cars could potentially weigh more as well…although this was more prevalent a decade or two ago as they seem to be building more ”standard” configurations as of late for NA market. For instance DRL have been law for new builds since the early 90’s, backup cameras have been law for over five yrs now, etc. As far as spec’d options go my 2019 Altima Platinum could only be purchased in AWD as well as all the lower tiers whereas in the USA you could spec in FWD only. Same with my Alfa Romeo Giulia, pretty sure you can’t spec it in RWD only here, same as it’s SUV sister the Stelvio…which adds quite a chunk when compared to US market.

I'm just telling it how I see it and from what I've been seeing the last 2 years here in the US is nonstop dealer markups, ESPECIALLY on new cars that have a lot of hype behind them. And yes people are paying these absurd markups, which is part of the reason why they still aren't going down. So it wouldn't be unusual at all for someone with extra money and enough desperation to throw thousands of $ extra to get one of the first new Zs.
I wonder if Nissan may have threatened it’s USA dealers with plenty of bitch-slappin’ like Ford did and are only allowing a 1k markup “lest the be smited” ?…1k seems to be a common theme here, just saying ?‍♂ it would make sense as it would make Nissan look like shit if not: “we came out with a new Everyman Z, attainable by the average person” as dealer marks it up into Corvette territory ??‍♂

Maybe they are punishing the dealers by giving allocations to Aus and Canada first, and giving the US the left overs ?

im ready for the abuse ?

Nissan Board Meeting: These dealers with their ADMs are really f-ing up our philosophy! How can we fix this and send them a clear message??
Random dude in the back: Give the first batch to the Commonwealth countries first!
