I love how all 3 trims are setup.

Sport - I feel is for the guy/gal who wants a blank canvas and will likely spend crazy amounts of money on mods but it will be with everything he/she wanted the car to be. The other end of that is the guy who wanted a low cost sports car with great power but don't really care for all the modding riff raff.

Performance - I feel is for the guy/gal who will likely still mod(or not) but wanted many performance and creature comfort features up front.

Nismo - I feel is for the guy/gal who wants the sharpest Z experience out the box with the most minimal mods. Also some may buy it for Nismo aero body kit and Recaro or a combination of all of that plus what I mentioned in the former (That would be me)

I just want to say that if you're a mechanic and know how to install and troubleshoot upgrades 100% by yourself then get the Sport + mods/upgrades. If not then just get the Performance you will be happy. People tend to forget not everyone is a mechanic and the labor costs plus parts will far exceed $10k.

CONCUR: I'm mechanically-handy. I ALSO have access to a lift and tranny jack. So, swapping in the Performance LSD pumpkin for my sport's open diff was simple. I think I spent more time walking back and forth getting wrenches out than doing the install.

Doing it in the driveway, not knowing which end of the wrench to hold? Yeah, you are effed.

Nissan will hire you for their next Z development :like:

I think the one thing that should be available is a low cost option LSD on the Sport, the Z with 400hp, it's a safety issue, come on Nissan.

Sounds like OP has already made up their mind, but another thing to consider is that the spoilerless decklid looks soooooooo much better. 😆 I fully realize it is silly, but this was near the top of the list of my considerations when I was debating Sport vs. Performance. The spoiler ruins the classic silhouette, so much cleaner without, IMO. Especially with the Fairlady tramp stamp!

It's funny you said that it looked like i already made my mind up.
Now that i have my Z and ive had it for a few months, i can definitely say that i had my mind made up even before i began the thread haha
there was just no way i could go for the performance. perhaps i started the thread as just a way to talk about Zs

Buying mine was definitely the best thing ive ever done, its crazy to me how much just a singular car can mean to me. very very glad i bought it and didnt lean into the more "sociable" options like a mustang or a supra.

I traded a 2024 Mustang GT for my Z. That says something. There are also people trading new Corvettes for this car. They're THAT special and fun. Congratulations on your purchase!!!!!
