Has anyone tried the Nismo oil filter? Z1 says it allows better flow. P/N 15208RN011

I plugged my solenoid back in. While i didn't care that the CEL was on, clearing the code also reset emissions stuff to not ready.

Since I plan on doing my recall, I'd rather them not bring it up. Did you know your check engine light is on? We can scan it and charge you $300 to tell you what the issue is 🙄

The tuner bypasses the CEL

I didn't know that, thanks for the heads up. So if the light was on all the time how would you know if you threw a code.
OBD2 reader will let you know what code is coming up. For the oil pressure solenoid, its p06da. It doesnt change anything with it unplugged. My oil pressure stayed the same

Just ordered the 15208-65F1B (made in Japan) from Melloy Nissan dealership on ebay (full box - 10pcs) for $80 including shipping and tax. I will never buy the mexico oil filters (15208-65FOE or 15208-9E01A).

The 9E01 filter or like, is what the tuners recommend - it's "larger" I've used (3) so far. Also, if you choose, disconnecting oil solenoid isn't a bad idea.

I use the same filter

Just to update, you will get a CEL with disconnecting the solenoid. A tune will turn that off

Pain in the butt to unclip the harness. I used a 90° pick tool to pull down on the clip and long small tip flat head screwdriver to pry it off. I taped it to keep debris out

Getting that connector off does suck - the clip is a pain. You have more OCD than me - I didn't tape :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Lisle makes a bunch of these tools for electrical connector removal that work great. What sucks on older cars they get brittle from heat so picks do work better so you don't break

Trying to figure out which filter based on RELIEF VALVE setpoint in the filter:

15208-65F1B (made in Japan by Mahle) : 250 kpa / 36 PSI
15208-65FOE: 98 kpa / 14.2 PSI
15208-9E01A: unknown. My google-fu is weak
Mobil 1 M1-108A: 103 kpa / 15 PSI
Mobil 1 M1-110: 103 kpa / 15 PSI

Per Z1 Motorsports:

*ATTENTION*
If you are using a heavier oil weight than recommended in your FSM, we recommend using the 65F0E filter to allow the heavier oil to flow properly.
