It was just a polite suggestion. IMO, if you’re lowering the car to the point you have to modify bodywork, you’ve comfortably crossed the threshold into Stance Bro territory. Halving your upward suspension travel, wrecking your geometry, and inevitably fusing your L2 & L3 vertebrae from constantly slamming into the bumpstops = #stancelife

It’s your Z, it’s your money, you can do whatever you want. It just breaks my heart to already see so many of these cars clapped out.
this sounds so much like an old man bitching about what kids wear these days

are you saying rolling or pulling fenders is “stance bro”? Guess what, some Nismos (2015+) have fenders rolled from the factory. Oh, and the Nismo trim things REDUCE clearance, does removing them count as “body work”? why is unacceptable for an owner to modify their fenders, but acceptable when Nissan does it?

what about the track folks that hack up fenders for air flow and to fit bigger tires?

is non functional aero ok? theres an entire sub forum of people talking about lips that don’t do anything?

i told people not to bother with sway bars bc their affect would be minimal on a street car, some people pushed back and said z owners should all get them for all the canyon carving or joyriding they did, are they stance bros? Go yell at them for me

with the current market, there’s parts available to be both low and functional
Adjustable arms, good coilovers, and air cups are all accessible now

i reject your position, as it is, again, an educated one. You come off as an old fart who is stuck three decades ago when the only modified cars to be seen were Hondas on cut springs

the car scene has evolved. Broadly condemning ”stance” cars only reveals a your own limited knowledge and perspextive

People build their cars for different goals and styles, try to catch up

hell, it takes skill, imagination, and budget to properly execute what you handwaive as “stance”, and we should be thankful there people who push the boundaries diaries, as the effort enables others to benefit from their experimentation

you can live in your closed bubble, I will gladly help any other Z owner that wants to move past that world

edit

OH GAWD ITS A LOWERED Z WITH MODIFIED FENDERS TO FIT WHEELS AND ITS SO LOW AND STIFF

Touched a nerve, I guess. I already said, you do you. But pointing to a Formula Drift car to justify dumping a Z is not the flex you think it is. I may be old, but one thing hasn’t changed in 20 years: clapping out a street car with cambered out wheels, slammed suspension, aero, wings, and a loud ass exhaust with a crackle tune beCaUSe RaCECaR is and always has been ricer shit.

you made a broad, ignorant about about other car owners so you should live with how stupid you sound

Your Z comes with a fake noise generator FROM THE FACTORY

did you buy a heritage bumper because it was super functional? Does it add 50hp?

Some people are doing it different than you

some people are doing it better than you

Deal with it

Yikes! It’s absolutely comical when people make a subjective statement as if it is objective truth. It’s also silly to be offended by anyone’s subjective opinions and views. These types of arguments are pointless. You might as well argue about tacos vs burritos and get mad about it. Why not focus on the common ground that is shared instead of trying to piss all over someone else’s parade! Sheesh!

The best thing about these cars is they look good in all configurations, even stock looks bad ass.

My first comment was innocuous. When I got attacked I got defensive instead of de-escalating, so I’ll take my lumps.

I rescind all the negative shit I said because 1) if you don’t have anything nice to say…, and 2) for every modded Z, the value of mine goes up a little bit more. So have at it, win-win!

Man does that look good. I think silver wheels just look better on most sports cars.

Really curious about this fitment.

I may do wheels at some point, and leaning 20's. Looking/considering, but no plans yet.

The fronts on this one look like they should look based on the dim's/offset.
To me, the rears are a different animal.

I'm currently bone stock on wheels, tires and suspension ('24 NISMO).
I ran 5mm spacers for a little while and removed them due to a vibration. Bought 10mm slip-ons and extended studs but haven't installed them yet. The stock NISMO rear is 19x10.5 +23. With 10mm spacers, which is technically 19x10.5 +13. Based on the 5mm spacer fitment 10mm will be tight, not "hella-flush" but nice and tight on the rear.

Someone here is running TE37's (rears) that are 19x11 +18 and they're basically perfect in my opinion. If they don't have rubbing it's REALLY close, which is perfect imo.
Based on dimension calculation, a 19x11 +18 pokes 2mm more than the OEM NISMO rear with 10mm spacers.
20x11 +10, like these BBS LMs, poke 8mm more than 20x11 +18.
The images above look perfect to me. Poke-wise they look exactly like the 19x11 +18, NOT almost 3/8" further out. I feel like a 11"w +10 would stick past the fender a little and MOST CERTAINLY rub. Bad.

Am I missing something?
Does going from 19" to 20" somehow make the offset figure differently?

I've got a specific wheel at the top of my list. Technically there's only one wheel I'm really considering, but if I do wheels, by the time I do them there will be new stuff out and the ones I want probably won't be available. Anyway, they're 20x10.5 F and 20x11 R) but the 20x11 is +10. And if the images above are exactly what I'd see with 20x11 +10 with another wheel brand that would really help.

Point of reference, lining the OEM NISMO rear (19x10.5 +23) next to a 20x11 +10 on willtheyfit shows the 20" will poke 20mm more than the OEM NISMO. Personally, I don't think that I could run 20mm spacers without MAJOR rub. Like destroying tires/fender rub.

Beautiful. Chef's kiss on those wheels. $ well spent. 👌 Do the 20's compromise the ride at all?

Very nice. I looked at OEM GTR wheels for a minute, but decided against it because I thought 20s would just look too big, but these look very good!
If you go with step lips, they dont look like 20s. Optical illusion due to the face is 19s on 20" lip.

Full face wheels like 20" GTR wheels will look huge on a short wheel base car
