this sounds so much like an old man bitching about what kids wear these daysIt was just a polite suggestion. IMO, if you’re lowering the car to the point you have to modify bodywork, you’ve comfortably crossed the threshold into Stance Bro territory. Halving your upward suspension travel, wrecking your geometry, and inevitably fusing your L2 & L3 vertebrae from constantly slamming into the bumpstops = #stancelife
It’s your Z, it’s your money, you can do whatever you want. It just breaks my heart to already see so many of these cars clapped out.
are you saying rolling or pulling fenders is “stance bro”? Guess what, some Nismos (2015+) have fenders rolled from the factory. Oh, and the Nismo trim things REDUCE clearance, does removing them count as “body work”? why is unacceptable for an owner to modify their fenders, but acceptable when Nissan does it?
what about the track folks that hack up fenders for air flow and to fit bigger tires?
is non functional aero ok? theres an entire sub forum of people talking about lips that don’t do anything?
i told people not to bother with sway bars bc their affect would be minimal on a street car, some people pushed back and said z owners should all get them for all the canyon carving or joyriding they did, are they stance bros? Go yell at them for me
with the current market, there’s parts available to be both low and functional
Adjustable arms, good coilovers, and air cups are all accessible now
i reject your position, as it is, again, an educated one. You come off as an old fart who is stuck three decades ago when the only modified cars to be seen were Hondas on cut springs
the car scene has evolved. Broadly condemning ”stance” cars only reveals a your own limited knowledge and perspextive
People build their cars for different goals and styles, try to catch up
hell, it takes skill, imagination, and budget to properly execute what you handwaive as “stance”, and we should be thankful there people who push the boundaries diaries, as the effort enables others to benefit from their experimentation
you can live in your closed bubble, I will gladly help any other Z owner that wants to move past that world
edit
OH GAWD ITS A LOWERED Z WITH MODIFIED FENDERS TO FIT WHEELS AND ITS SO LOW AND STIFF
MY EYES
MY EYES
