He stated that the shifter goes too far to the right. The reverse lockout plate is what governs the shifter travel.

You're absolutely correct, the lock-out plate matches his symptoms perfectly and is the likely culprit.

I was mainly responding to the "there's nothing to bend" portion because it IS possible (though difficult, depending on platform) to internally damage a transmission from the shift lever, but you're correct that his symptoms do not match that damage.

I removed the CarDoc Connect module the dealer installed, and canceled the service. I was on the fence about it's value vs. intrusiveness; but seeing battery drain using a battery tender, just decided I don't want it installed. Doubtful tte dealer will do any refund, but will call.

I have one of these stupid things in my Grand Cherokee that the dealer installed as soon as they took delivery off the truck... I've been meaning to remove it and really need to get around to it!

Seems a universal install where they're zip-tied in, just have to remove and set the OEM OBD back in the slot. CarDoc was easy to work with, just had to send an email for "written request" and provide a copy of my license and title (or contract).

Received the K&N CAI that I learned about from @KrackaC8. Hopefully get it installed over the weekend. Now that noise cancelling and sound enhancement are turned off, I should hear some turbo noises. One of these days I’ll get around to picking an exhaust.

Seen running topics like this on other car forums where people talk about what they did with their car and can add it to a thread like this.

Went out for a fun drive?
Met other interesting car people?
Mods?
Upgrades?

I'll start.

Like a few others here have done, added the "Fairlady Z" badging to my spoiler and removed the "Z" in the centerplate on the rear. Got it from thezstore.com it's OEM with a nissan sticker / part number. The blue foam around it really helped line it up right too.

Got my post lowering alignment. I could feel the difference on the ride home. The Z seemed to be more sensitive to steering input.. Could just be in my mind, too. As long as I don't ruin my tires it will be fine.
On to the next project.

You need front and rear camber arms. You'll see accelerated tire wear with your camber like this. It'll also make your steering more nimble.

Thanks... I just looked at what it costs to get front and rear adjustable camber kits from Z1 and it made me question the wisdom of lowering my car. I guess I could find a lesser costing source or just monitor for uneven tire wear for the summer. But I do need a project...
