Damn, that is horrible to hear. What type of oil were you running? How high did your oil temps get?
Perhaps you'll need a baffled oil pan & upgraded cooler when you're back up & running?

Funny enough i already had the upgraded oil pan from Z1 to install. I most certainly wasn't using the best type of oil for track use. I was using the OEM OW-20 but really i was just doing that to cover my ass with warranty along with making sure I do all fluid changes at a Nissan Service Center. I have a great relationship with my local dealership thankfully so i'm hoping that decision will pay off....

Sorry to see this - happen to me on the street w/ a mildly tuned K20A2 w/ 8,500 redline. It happened to me when i let off (engine breaking) after hitting redline in 5th. The engine had 120k miles.

i’m running 0-20 M1 but switching to 10-30 M1 after break-in, maybe at ~5k, I’m street only

silverado’s are spinning rod bearing with 0-20 and quickly turned to 0-40.

Did you check your oil level right after? I hope your oil pump or solenoid didn't give up and starve the engine. Hoping for the best since you are following recommended servicing. I just know that if you track, should use at least 5w30, that's what my dealer changed mine with, M1, at first break in oil change.

Agree, def need 5w30, while not sure it would have prevented this, there would be no warranty issues. I have my oil changed at the dealer, and they use 5w30 unless you specify factory oil weight.

I have the solenoid block off that was supposed to be installed next week as well. I'll have to ask about switching to 5w30 for the future. Some people have pointed to being on grippier Vitour P1 tires as a potential factor as well.

My guess is oil starvation based on your G meter. You need a baffled oil pan (which the Z1 is not). Assuming quality oil, 0W-20 vs. 5W-30 wouldn't be your cause here unless you completely overheated it.

I wish I knew. During the last session of the day I got an oil temperature warning for only the second time. Started to back off but the temperature just wasn't going down nearly as quick as I expected. Eventually made it back into the pits after a cooldown lap and next thing I know it's sounding like that on startup. This was my first time on some stickier tires (Vitour P1) sosome people have speculated that might have been a factor. Sure wish Nissan gave me an oil pressure gauge in the Nismo model...
Still curious about this. Both your stock Nismo Dunlop GT600 and the Vitour P1 are 200tw trackable tires, I wouldn't think much difference in how sticky they are. Your oil temps stayed high longer than normal, are you sure you're not low on oil since you were on your last session (how many laps total and did you check levels between sessions?) Possible starvation of course but I'm not sure if non-baffled oil pan was the main cause.

When I track I always double check oil levels after each session, often had to add 1/2 quart or so, of course depending on the car and engine type.

Very concerning to say the least !!
Why oh why Nissan chose to omit an OIL PRESSURE gauge is beyond me !! Yet they deemed a gimmicky "Turbine Speed" gauge worthy of gracing the 3 dash/pod gauges....the mind boggles.

Doesn't the manual say to overfill the oil by a certain amount for track use? I dont have access to my manual as im on a trip, but I remember reading that in my 2024 performance manual.

Can you give the spec of the tire and wheels?
I am going to need this. I got a flat in my GT500 on the way from Florida to TN, and of course it happened on a rural two-lane road, it was a disaster, would have killed for a spare tire.
