Hey Guys!

I'm glad so many of you are enjoying your Trucontrols! As many have reported map 7 is always a joy!

I'd like to clear some information up though. Dealerships may see some historical data which may include boost spikes, detonation ect, but when it's so minor it's not going to log it. If you are overboosting to where its triggering check engine codes then the ECU will log that information.
Remember that even stock cars can overboost.

Since our system is NOT altering the ECU by any means, simply riding along with it. All of your safety precautions are still in place. This means over boosting to where it would be dangerous to your car, it will still flip into limp mode to protect itself.

If anyone has any drive by videos, post them up. I would love to see some!

What is the added boost increase for the different modes?

Probably a dumb question but I’ll ask anyway. After installing the TruControl, is there any reason to mess with the sport mode that the Z already comes with? I’m assuming you’d just use the TruControl instead.
Not dumb at all. Since the install I have ran it both ways and noticed no difference in performance except that sport mode just increases the idle rpms. I don't even think about putting it in sport mode any more.

Just finished the TruControl install. I decided to install the module on the left side of the engine cavity. To me, this is an ideal spot because it is out of the way and well secured. There isn't any stress on any of the connectors and the wires are secured. The module is sitting on a half inch of foam and there aren't any sharp metal objects.

On my first test drive I was sure I had messed something up with the wires. I let the car warm up for about five minutes and then headed out. After another five minutes I pushed the throttle and... nothing. Actually, less than nothing. It felt like the car was in limp mode although there weren't any warning lights. The car was so under powered that I could hardly make it up the hill. And I do mean hardly. I got back to my yard and checked all the wiring only to find everything was OK. BTW, I was in sport 5. I took out again and everything worked perfectly. I've since put another 20 miles on and all good.

Any thoughts?

That’s weird. From what you said it sounds like one of the connectors might not have been fully seated and when you did the recheck it seated. That scenario would fit the symptoms.

BTW that’s where my Trucontrol is installed and I’ve not had any trouble at all, I don’t think placement is an issue either.

@Mellowyellow did you do the pre install steps to make sure the car was completely de energized? Perhaps that's it and when you brought it home and did another stop start cycle it corrected.

It does sound like a connection issue but they all clearly "clicked" into place. I am one of these check three times before proceeding people.

I had both keys separated from the car by 60 feet overnight.

I can tell you one thing, my Race is set at map 6 and the acceleration is almost criminal. I love it.

Preach it. It's thrilling. So glad I did this.
