I’m not picking up what you‘re putting down. Can you please explain the half-ass part?

Using the spring perch to secure the aircup. It wasn't designed to do that so I would be concerned about developing issues down the road.

Not an issue.

The perch isn't 'securing' anything. It's not even touching the air cup. It's acting as a spacer to increase the height between the collar and top nut.

Sakebomb's suggestion was a washer stack. And that's because they don't need to waste a perch on something that could be accomplished with five(?) M10 flat washers. I didn't have washers close by and the perch fit perfectly (that's where it's supposed to go anyway). All of the stuff above the cup (top spherical collar, spherical bearing, bottom spherical collar and perch) are squeezed together between the taper collar on the shaft and the top nut. None of that's moving , shaking, or going anywhere. The only difference between that perch and a spacer (aluminum, 25mm OD, 10mm ID, 10mm H) is the perch has more material around it that's not technically needed.

My $0.02, I appreciate the feedback, but not having the parts in front of you then going to the length of calling what I'm doing a "half-ass installation" is a pretty short-sighted thing to say.

Hmmm, one more thing to think of with the install. I will have to get a friend to turn a couple pieces for me while I am waiting for mine to return.

I have been looking into the air pump Set up, I am Leaning towards a wireless remote set up. Once I get an idea of max pressure for the cups a pump with a pressure cut off switch will keep it from over pressurizing. No wires into the car for switches and gauge. Pretty much only going to be used for the occasional curb, speed bump, or ramp built to destroy.

Are yours coming with cups or are you adding them later?
Regardless, the top perch works perfectly fine as a spacer. But to avoid the appearance of half-assery I did make a couple of spacers. Didn’t notice my hack job edge break on the id until I saw this pic.

I never really pulled them out to look. Once I noticed they were a divorced set up I didn’t want to pull them out of the packaging knowing they were going back. I didn’t see your situation to compare prior to shipping. I don’t mind 2 washers stacked but anymore than that requires a spacer in my mind. Just me though, not really a difference in effectiveness. If it comes with stacked washers I will just swap them out.

Swapping in spacers. Need 6mm to have enough thread for the top nut. Plenty of room on the end of the shaft, but the thicker the spacer the higher the top hat, which makes the coil over longer. A few mm is nothing though unless you’re planning to absolutely dump them to the max lowest setting.
