So far my only regret is just not reading up more on the platform before I pulled the trigger...I tend to be more analytical / less spontaneous when making big purchases like this, but the deal was attractive, the timing was right, the car was the spec I was looking for, and most importantly I was able to take advantage of over $10k off, making my performance $46k. I am a little worried how the VR30 will respond to shitty ACN 91 gas and the manufacturer recommending 0w-20 even though I'll spend several months well into the 110's daily-ing the car in Phoenix...

I'm not convinced I would have 100% chosen the Z if my budget had been MSRP ($56,615) as that might have opened up some interesting competition, but by the time I stop spending $$$ on upgrades who knows how deep in this I'll be?

Overall, I'm really happy with the car itself though, so far I have zero issues to speak of and my complaints are mostly limited to the audio quality of the Bose system, the quality of the backup camera, and the weak stock exhaust on the 6MT...most of which can be remedied.
Congrats on your new edition. Being on west coast means you can't get 94 octane being offered from a sunoco. Dang

I'm in the east-coast and we only get 93 from Sunnoco.

I was in a similar position with similar previous experience, IMO nothing can touch it and I allowed a beloved R35 to drift off into a rotation of sorts where I no longer have easy access to it all for the Z. I cross shopped everything from a C8 to an M5 (2018+ comp).

That said, I cannot imagine tracking and driving it on the street w/o easily adjustable coil-overs. In a heartbeat, despite making good power, if I could only do 1 thing to this car it would be sticking with my K&W V3s. You have to get aggressive to make it agile, middle-ground street/track springs won’t do, they suck at both unlike other platforms.

I can go from rail car to pure GT comfy mush from a height, rebound and dampening standpoint in under 30 mins and I’m old/slow, it’s that easy and they aren’t insanely priced for what they yield on this platform.

I second the KW V3s, solid performer and consistent quality! Had them on my prior E46 M3 tracked. Don't skimp on coilovers, good damping adjustments critical.

I've had my 2024 Performance model for about five weeks now and absolutely love the car. I echo @EarlsFat’s sentiments—it's an impressive vehicle overall.

That said, I’ve noticed the tires can break loose at low speeds while turning, which was unexpected. I haven’t tried the launch feature yet, as the car is still under 700 miles—I’m using it primarily as a daily driver.

It’s going in soon for a ceramic coating, UV-blocking windshield tint, and darker tint for the other windows. The glare from the glossy black trim beneath the media center has been frustrating, so I’m hoping that will be improved with the tinting as well.

One feature I really miss is remote start. Living in the desert, it would be great to start the A/C remotely when it's 110°F outside.

I've also added a "bug-out" bag to the car for emergencies—easy to access when needed. I particularly appreciate the storage area behind the passenger seat; it fits the owner's manual perfectly, and I can put my concealed carry within reach.

Stock tires are pretty bad, and will wear out before you hit 10K. I've been happy with Michelin pilot sport 4s, but in an arid climate there may be a grippier option.

2nd time I'm hearing about the stock Potenza 007's wearing out before 10k. Mine didn't wear out at all and I tracked them once. They're not grippy but they're also not worn out or bald.

Yeah I'm with Thefunk.. I'm sitting at 10.5k miles, I don't track but I drive aggressively at least once a month with plenty of burnouts and tailslides.. My tires aren't even close to worn out.

I do find it interesting how different everyone's experience is with the tires.. People complain about their performance often, but I enjoy the fact they don't fully grip and you can peel off a corner and swing around a bit. Probably the most fun I have in the car.

Hmm, maybe the issue is my car came with Yokohama Advan Sport tires... Nissan just throwing random rubber around.

Hmm maybe my tires lasted longer because I never did any burnouts nor spins🤷

I'm probably going to go with new Potenza's and post about it just to set the site on fire :ROFLMAO:

According to tire rack they are factory equipment on several super cars that must be why my little ole Z loves them so much.

I switched to Pilot 4S and wider and haven't looked back. Last time on track I broke traction once, only because I lost focus and hit a turn a little latešŸ˜…
