So far my only regret is just not reading up more on the platform before I pulled the trigger...I tend to be more analytical / less spontaneous when making big purchases like this, but the deal was attractive, the timing was right, the car was the spec I was looking for, and most importantly I was able to take advantage of over $10k off, making my performance $46k. I am a little worried how the VR30 will respond to shitty ACN 91 gas and the manufacturer recommending 0w-20 even though I'll spend several months well into the 110's daily-ing the car in Phoenix...

I'm not convinced I would have 100% chosen the Z if my budget had been MSRP ($56,615) as that might have opened up some interesting competition, but by the time I stop spending $$$ on upgrades who knows how deep in this I'll be?

Overall, I'm really happy with the car itself though, so far I have zero issues to speak of and my complaints are mostly limited to the audio quality of the Bose system, the quality of the backup camera, and the weak stock exhaust on the 6MT...most of which can be remedied.
Congrats on your new edition. Being on west coast means you can't get 94 octane being offered from a sunoco. Dang

I'm in the east-coast and we only get 93 from Sunnoco.

I was in a similar position with similar previous experience, IMO nothing can touch it and I allowed a beloved R35 to drift off into a rotation of sorts where I no longer have easy access to it all for the Z. I cross shopped everything from a C8 to an M5 (2018+ comp).

That said, I cannot imagine tracking and driving it on the street w/o easily adjustable coil-overs. In a heartbeat, despite making good power, if I could only do 1 thing to this car it would be sticking with my K&W V3s. You have to get aggressive to make it agile, middle-ground street/track springs won’t do, they suck at both unlike other platforms.

I can go from rail car to pure GT comfy mush from a height, rebound and dampening standpoint in under 30 mins and I’m old/slow, it’s that easy and they aren’t insanely priced for what they yield on this platform.

I second the KW V3s, solid performer and consistent quality! Had them on my prior E46 M3 tracked. Don't skimp on coilovers, good damping adjustments critical.
