Any regrets?

Looking at resale on Z’s, lost so much money buying this I’m stuck in it is probably regret #1. Only plus to that, I know it has been driven with me in the car for 99% of the miles!

But still stoked driving it?! Then that's worth way more than any resale value, of which most cars can't recoup anyway. I'm taking mine out on local winding roads much as I can, the Z's manners are easy to get used to - clutching, shifting, steering, etc. - and surprisingly quiet and composed, not nervous like a Supra was. Only regret is minor, clutch take-up is still too high for smooth 1st gear launches. Will try to adjust pedal position much as possible.

Not really regrets.... but just observations after DD'ing it for about 2 months... about 3500 miles so far.

1. No heated steering wheel? Even $20k econoboxes have heated steering wheels! (It's 10* here)
2. Android Auto is a total POS - Not Nissan's fault though.
3. For $53k... there really should be totally wireless phone integration and a charger.
4. Took me a few weeks to get used to how the knobs work since I 'm at that stage where I can't see well at exactly the distance those knobs are lol, but the AC/heat is awesome.
5. They should have put a little more thought into the visors... since you sit so low there are a lots of cracks the sun gets through.
6. Glasses holder in the roof console would have been nice.
7. Owner manual doesn't fit in the f'ing glove box!?!?!?
8. Seats are NOT great for 3 hour or longer trips... but maybe my ass is just out of shape.
9. The My Nissan app... yeah that's not even worth downloading if you have an Android.
10. This thing is so uncommon I strongly doubt there'll ever be much of an aftermarket support for interior things... like a nice bag to hold your "oh shit" shit (bigass knife, rope, etc).

My only HONEST complaint.... and this one is on Nissan. How can you NOT have remote start so that you can bring the engine up to operating temp in colder weather without sitting in the friggin car for 5 minutes? That seems like a big miss to me, and the really fat, fairly dirty sales guy didn't know it wasn't on the car. Huge fail there IMHO.

I'm still on stock tires and the damned thing breaks loose regularly. I think it's more the conditions of the road, but I can't imagine the traction control kicking in so often being good for the car.

All ^ that being said... I am pretty damned happy with it. (But I do miss my Rebel, lol)

I agree moth most of your list especially heated steering wheel, and will add power folding mirrors, and a heads up display.

I have around two more years left living in the state. I am thinking of getting a Z to enjoy while I can.

Just curious, did you pay over MSRP? My lesson over the years in the the housing market to never overbid (offer over asking). I once made a house purchase and paid over asking price. I said to myself to never do that again. There will be people with deeper pockets and let them...

There are incentives today even for new ones, especially 2024s, to get you below $50K, dealer cash, Nissan cash etc. Throw your offer, especially on sitting inventory. Good luck. Again, I got mine for $49.2 2025 Performance Manual

Right on. I am considering used too. I guess it all depends on the number. Owning a new car for around 2 years would probably be a big hit on depreciation, but my son might take it over so there is that option.

I wonder if I could get this $44K OTD. Not my first color option as I had 2 Honda S2000 AP2 in silverstone back in the days.

Great point. I have a Bose system in my Frontier Pro4x. It sounds broader than the Z.

The Fender system in the newer Frontier Pro 4X's is great. They also did a lot with the interior being much more quiet on the newer (post 2022) Frontiers. I really enjoy mine.

The complaints about the sound system in the new Z are missing an important factor: shape of the car. I have the Bose system in my Z. I think it sounds great. My Murano doesn't have Bose but the sound is "bigger" and more spacious. The shape of the car matters a lot. The Z wasn't designed to have a good sound system.

I think that's nonsense. People have already posted on the forum how they have improved audio with aftermarket systems. It's a simple fact that branded audio systems are purely about marketing. The same amount of tuning does not go into every car despite the name plate.

Personally, I'm happy enough with the sport's non-Bose system after some EQ tweaks. Obviously am missing subwoofer thump. it's been sad to hear no one has found the right "settings" for the Bose system.

I think this has the same amp issues the previous 370z has. I’ve had nissan premium Bose systems on my maxima’s and pathfinders in the past and I was content with the bass thanks to my eq settings. Here it’s minimal, even for that sub box, so who knows. I just want to upgrade them a little bit but nothing too crazy, I do want to look into the amp though.

Can someone convince me the new Z is a better car than the Miata ND2 LOL!! I have driven the Z a few times now and owned 3 previous Z/ZX generations.

If I were to buy the Z, it would be another red in manual, sport trim. I just need to show up and test drive it. Then sign the paper work.

I am on my second Miata ND1 for 5 years, now ND2 3.5 years. Currently the Miata is on coilovers with Titan 7 rims. It handles perfectly. Have owned multiple S2000 AP2s so I know what a go cart is. I can't keep both cars.

I don't own a Miata, but they are really fun cars. Most of the reason is that they are small and light. My biggest problem with the Z is that it's a little big, and heavy. So, to be fair, I'm not sure that I should be convincing you to switch.
On the other hand, The Z (I have the Nismo) is a ton of fun to drive for other reasons. It's faster and feels like a beast next to the Miata. The handling is great for its weight and in my opinion it looks great. All that said, I was looking for a new car that I could use on the track. The Miata was my first choice (due to handling and price), but unfortunately, I couldn't fit in it with a helmet (I'm 6'1") so I wound up adding almost 30K more and got the Nismo. It's a wonderful special feeling car; I have no regrets!

I tested a used Nismo. The handling is great. The other trims are floaty/GT car. Btw I am also a Z/ZX car fanatic. I was invited to the Z Car Garage in San Jose (met the head of Nissan marketing, believe he was on the forum before) months before the car was released.
