ASE Disable

My dealer said the same thing. I gave them the screenshots, they said they had updated everything, but that the option for asc and ase weren't available for some reason... This was about 4 months ago.

Are people disabling one and not the other, or flipping both off together?

I did both, as mentioned in the threads linked above, but I know that some forum members leave ANC enabled. I could tell the difference with ASE disabled, but I couldn't tell the difference with ANC.

My dealer showed me 3 options of sounds. Active sound enhancement, noise cancellation and transient sound.
Not sure if they showed me these options of a nismo tho but i did give them my vin. Going in tmr to turn that shit off

I disabled ASE but left ANC enabled. My [former] dealer did it at no charge while performing 2 recalls.

I have read that it also can improve the Bose system as far as sound quality goes. Did you notice any improvement? My 350 cd changer sounded way better than the current system in my car.

Maybe a little... Lining the trunk with sound deadening material made the biggest difference.

I really am considering getting a EQ app for Apple car play. I believe just a little more tweaking ability would make a big difference

That's correct, I meant to mention that the Bose system sound has improved and became more crispy and clear.

I ended up buying the dongle and renting the nissan connect software for a day so I could turn it off myself. My local dealer could not grasp what I was asking for when I talked to them about getting the sound enhancement and noise cancellation turned off. The service writer kept saying "uhh... what?", and then when I asked for the manager the service writer just went in the back area and stayed there until I left about 20 minutes later. Pretty sad.

I did both, no other changes and I can actually hear the stock exhaust. I did on my own since the local dealer had zero clue wth I was talking about.

Yeah, maybe. The Z is kind of a special car in Nissan's line up. If you're dealing with all the other cars day in and day out, maybe the Z slips your mind.

Probably not even service advisor Espinosa wants, to be sure.
