Jan 27th, so today's 12 weeks.
Wish they hadn't told me 5. Assume they had no clue what they were going to run into, but 12+...?
Anyway, All Good!

...and if @Murix would stop dropping his cars off maybe they'd have time to work on my coils! :ROFLMAO:
Damn... That's longer than getting a made-to-order part from Nismo Japan... Any good luck with it?

I ordered them in January, and at this point it will be May before they arrive. Well, hopefully in May.

Sorry to hear that bro. Wish you can get your coilovers in May. I was like watching this forum for a while because I was planning on the same route.

Sakebomb has their FPSpec Ohlins Z kit up now. During an initial phone conversation with Heath I mentioned that "400Z" was sort of a joke within the group of people that actually own Z's. I assume he didn't care. Maybe I'm in the minority, but it really grinds my gears.

I got my set for an introductory price, but that was over three months ago, so not sure if they're still offering that. At that point remote adjusters didn't come with it, and I assume they still don't, so you'll probably want to add those.

If the internet, this forum and my Z are still around when my set arrives I'll post pics and let you know what I think.

“I got my set for an introductory price, but that was over three months ago, so not sure if they're still offering that.”

Not sure what that would be since it was just uploaded on the site. Last year I was offered a lower price but I am sure that is out the window now even though they were suppose to get back to me and never did. Not my concern though now.

Ohlins and Sakebomb have a great rep, it’sa new format for them also so I understand some of the issues. Not in a hurry since I am traveling more for work so don’t get to drive the car much, building for future street/track day s.

Change of plans.
Switching to a True Rear setup.
Heath (Sakebomb) mentioned that standard is 65mm, but wants to make sure that they don't need 60mm for clearance.

Does anyone know if 65mm coils on a true rear would cause any issues?

My assumption is there are a bunch of RZ34s running true rear and many more Z34s, and the answer is well-known, I just can't find it or haven't searched enough.

That is what I am considering, this is their last email

“Select the performance at checkout we can calculate the spring offset between damper and spring for true coilover assuming a 65 mm will we have all the information needed. As soon as the restock comes in“

waiting to hear back on timeline. It is funny i just looked back at the initial emails and the original date was Sept 2025.

Ohlins USA has their RZ34 Road & Track kit up. Wonder if I should get a set from them to run while I’m waiting on Sakebomb. 14 weeks and 4 days so far.

Kidding…sort of :frown:
Ohlins says out of stock anyway.

Not sure component wise, but spring weight’s a good chunk heftier than the JDM Ohlins. They’re listing 200 n/mm front and 130 rear, and if my math is correct that’s 20.4K front and 13.3K rear (divorced). Not judging, as I’m no expert, but that seems pretty hardcore for the “Road” part of “Road &Track.“ Maybe comparable to the HKS Hipermax R rates? (edit: Hipermax S are 12/11, Hipermax R are 22/26)

In other news you did DIDN’T ask for, I ordered a front set of the Sakebomb air cups last week as well. 10% site wide sale. Icouldnt restrain myself, so THANKS to the enabler (💰) that made me aware of those! You Know Who You Are!
OK, because I think I’m going to like the look and go a little lower that I’m planning to.

Man... That's too long for just suspensions... Did they explain why there was extra waiting? I saw z1 has their ohlins on the shelf, you can check it out if you are tired of waiting. I'm still watching around the options, and ngl, I'm really not sure if I should go to Sakebomb based on what I've seen from your story.

That spring rate must be error. No way it would be that high. That seems twice as stiff as it needs to be.

👆 this whole site is bad for making me want to spend money on my car. I’m about to drop quite a bit of money on a watch 👑 I’ve been waiting to come in but now I’m second guessing it. :p

It’s annoying, but I’ve been patient and haven’t really pushed the issue. Ive got a health issue and cant even wash my car right now, much less work on it. Open abdominal surgery, and I may be focusing on car upgrades to cope. Whatever works I guess. Sched for 6/19, but prob won’t e back into wrenching shape until mid-Aug maybe.

And posting my situation here FYI. Although I have no experience with the parts, I don’t think anyone should avoid them, as theyre held in high regard in the FD, Miata an S2K community. I’d just hold them to a timeline before you buy. Not sure if they ever messed with coils on a 370, but the Z is new to them. Not trying to make excuses, still at this point trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Wait, just caught the emoji. If it means what I think my means: watch.
As long as it’s from a jeweler you trust 110%. The fakes have gotten REALLY good.
