I guess I've finally learned my lesson buying any Z1 branded product.
I was working on my rear suspension, finishing my coil over install doing Nismo braces, camber arms and Toe bolts, with the intention of getting an alignment after. After removing the stock toe bolts I checked the stock bolts against the Z1 template by holding both between two fingers and rotating the bolt, it indeed left ~1/4 inch gap as expected. I then tired the same thing with the Z1 toe bolts and guess what, SAME 1/4th inch gap. I couldn't believe it so I tried installing the Z1 bolts without doing the grinding. The non-captive side fully rotates WITH NO GRINDING required. The other side is maybe 1/2 a millimeter from being able to fully rotate. The z1 bolts are just a crappier version of the stock bolts.
If you ground your subframe to install this Z1 kit, you did it for literally NOTHING.
This statement off their website is a boldfaced lie: "Washers with a longer eccentric motion range add +/- 2 degrees more adjustment range over the available Nissan eccentric bolt kits for fine-tuning alignment. Due to the increased adjustment range, the slots on the subframe must be elongated prior to installation."
Pics below:
Z1 eccentric washer on top of stock Nissan washer:
There is MAYBE 1/2-1mm between their axis locations.
Z1 bolts installed with no grinding, in their maximum adjusted position:
Non-welded side of the z1 bolt - works with zero griding for full adjustment range:
Welded side, barely doesn't rotate to maximum position, again maybe 1/2-1mm extra adjustment vs stock. If you ground your subframe the 1/4 inch the template suggests to install these you got punk'd by Z1:
Z1 in it's template, showing the wasted metal they expect you to grind vs the actual adjustment range of the bolt:
Stock bolt in Z1 template, it's basically the same, maybe 1/2-1mm between them:
Then, just to make sure I wasn't crazy I bought the SPC toe bolts and guess what, THEY ACTUALLY DELIVER WHAT THEY PROMISED.
Comparison, stock on top, Z1 scam in middle, and SPC on bottom, notice how much more eccentric the SPC bolt is.
SPC in Z1 template, still doesn't use the full 1/4 inch Z1 wants you to grind but much closer:
Z1 scam bolts tested again against their own template:
Stock in Z1 template:
You literally just need to hold their bolts in your hand and compare them to either the stock bolts or them template they came with to see what's wrong. I can't believe Z1 didn't do the BARE MINIMUM R&D of comparing their product to stock or their own f'n template...
Z1 toe bolts are a scam, straight up. That is all.
