I guess I've finally learned my lesson buying any Z1 branded product.

I was working on my rear suspension, finishing my coil over install doing Nismo braces, camber arms and Toe bolts, with the intention of getting an alignment after. After removing the stock toe bolts I checked the stock bolts against the Z1 template by holding both between two fingers and rotating the bolt, it indeed left ~1/4 inch gap as expected. I then tired the same thing with the Z1 toe bolts and guess what, SAME 1/4th inch gap. I couldn't believe it so I tried installing the Z1 bolts without doing the grinding. The non-captive side fully rotates WITH NO GRINDING required. The other side is maybe 1/2 a millimeter from being able to fully rotate. The z1 bolts are just a crappier version of the stock bolts.

If you ground your subframe to install this Z1 kit, you did it for literally NOTHING.

This statement off their website is a boldfaced lie: "Washers with a longer eccentric motion range add +/- 2 degrees more adjustment range over the available Nissan eccentric bolt kits for fine-tuning alignment. Due to the increased adjustment range, the slots on the subframe must be elongated prior to installation."

Pics below:

Z1 eccentric washer on top of stock Nissan washer:

There is MAYBE 1/2-1mm between their axis locations.

Z1 bolts installed with no grinding, in their maximum adjusted position:

Non-welded side of the z1 bolt - works with zero griding for full adjustment range:

Welded side, barely doesn't rotate to maximum position, again maybe 1/2-1mm extra adjustment vs stock. If you ground your subframe the 1/4 inch the template suggests to install these you got punk'd by Z1:

Z1 in it's template, showing the wasted metal they expect you to grind vs the actual adjustment range of the bolt:

Stock bolt in Z1 template, it's basically the same, maybe 1/2-1mm between them:

Then, just to make sure I wasn't crazy I bought the SPC toe bolts and guess what, THEY ACTUALLY DELIVER WHAT THEY PROMISED.

Comparison, stock on top, Z1 scam in middle, and SPC on bottom, notice how much more eccentric the SPC bolt is.

SPC in Z1 template, still doesn't use the full 1/4 inch Z1 wants you to grind but much closer:

Z1 scam bolts tested again against their own template:

Stock in Z1 template:

You literally just need to hold their bolts in your hand and compare them to either the stock bolts or them template they came with to see what's wrong. I can't believe Z1 didn't do the BARE MINIMUM R&D of comparing their product to stock or their own f'n template...

Z1 toe bolts are a scam, straight up. That is all.

The 3rd Z1 product I purchased is when they finally got me... After a bit of back & forth, they did at least authorize the return w/full refund so I'll give 'em that.

They wouldn't budge for me on shipping with an item I got. I didn't even use my product, it was unopened. They asked for pictures which I did but still would not refund the shipping. I don't mind paying to ship something back but not to get the initial shipping cost refunded sucks in this day and age.

I am new to the Z world and for some reason YouTube has me believing Z1 was the gold-standard...
The learning curve is steep. 😁
They are very aggressive with their social media advertising, with frequent videos, emails, and twitter/instragram stuff

As a big name, they also are very visible working with other companies, including Nissan, which gives them the appearance of quality.

Of course, those who have been in the Nissan community have known better for a while

If you ever watch their youtube videos, you'll see that they're also terrible. They don't show the full view, or close ups, or actual function on car. Alot of sitting with stuff on the table, and then limited view on car.

Even for something like a rear spat for the Z34 rear nismo, which is purely aesthetic . . . they never zoom out and show you the thing on the car in clear view. Insane.

Man, I feel like Z1 is on blast lately but for perfectly valid reasons. I might order products from them but I will never buy anything that's one of their Z1 branded products again. 4 out of 4 products I've got from them have all had issues.

They do stock and order OEM stuff, and they sometimes have sales on other companies things, so they still have use

but anything with their brand should be suspect

Agreed, that’s why I wanted to clarify. The actual branded stuff they sell is fine. But anything under their own brand is a 50/50 shot whether it’s good quality or not.

I bought their Z1 filters and the filters were the wrong size and yet I still had to pay return shipping. That was the one and only straw for me with their branded products.

Sorry this happened to you

but people ask me why i only recommend SPL arms and a lockout kit

this is why

Thanks yeah, those are good recommendations.

I did actually go to the alignment minus the toe bolts and I'm actually not low enough (a little less than 1 inch front and rear) to need them and get the alignment I wanted. With Vodoo13 camber arms (VERY happy with these) installed with the Z1 offset lockout kit (this DID work as advertised lol, and I liked the adjustability allowing the arm to be set shorter or longer which changes the bump camber/toe curve slightly) and stock toe bolts, I was able to get 1.8-degree negative camber and 1/32 toe in on the rear.
