I went from a G37S 6MT to a Z 6MT. The clutch on the Z is so easy (light) compared to the G37S, it freaks me out a bit.

I would think the G37S clutch was similar to the 370Z, but I just don't know.

Any 370Z 6MT -> Z 6MT drivers out there who can compare the 370Z to the Z? Any difference? What are your thoughts?

I compare it to my 2015 wrx, and its vey light. and engages very late (toward the top of the pedal). Any other cars to care it to?

I own a manual 370z and drove a manual Z for about 500kms (over 3 days) a few weeks back. (still awaiting my order)
The 370z is on the heavy side with a short high bite point.
The Z clutch is much lighter and much more like a regular car than the 370 is.
It just feels softer and better. As the Z is listed as having an Exedy heady duty clutch it should hold up no worries.

Yeah my STI is the same, engages WAY earlier than the Z. I backed the STI out of the driveway the other day and couldnt believe how different it felt. Felt like it engaged an inch off the floor.

I havenā€™t driven the new Z yet so cant comment on exactly what you asked, but (I think) the new 6MT Zā€™s use the same Exedy clutch assembly that Nissan started using in the ā€˜18+ 6MT 370Zs and that I have in mine.

Compared to other clutches Iā€™ve used, itā€™s relatively light and smooth to shift, starts to engage about halfway up but has a weird ā€œnotchā€ right at the top. It supposedly was a massive improvement over the previous 370Z clutch, but I canā€™t compare personally.

Thanks all. It sounds like my 2012 G37S was more like the older 370Zs (makes sense). I'm really liking the new Z's clutch and transmission. Finally, getting used to SRM and even hill start assist.

Coming from a 2010 6 speed Manuel Audi S4 I canā€™t stand it. The amount of times Iā€™ve stalled on this vehicle from frustration/wishing it was responsive similar to my s4 is unreal. The two are complete opposites, s4 was a heavy clutch, the second you let off slightly the car moved forward vs the new Z has a strange friction point imo. Itā€™s too late/delayed. Got to either be patient with it or give it gas getting into first.

Yeah, I was super surprised when I first got in the car at the dealer. The clutch is lighter than my '06 WRX...definitely not what I expected.

The clutch is definitely light, but I actually think it makes the car easier to drive, especially if you get caught in stop and go traffic (also known as "hell" for a Z).

Worst part about it is when your flying through the gears WOT and have to listen to that springy/thumping sound..Almost feels as if your misshifting.
