Got it in my 24' Perf too.

I could be wrong but I think it's supposed to be your glovebox light. At least that is where mine is basically pointed. So you have a little light in the cab without having to turn on the bright lights.

I have been on roads out of town with no street-lights and it gives a decent amount of glow to the passenger side of the car.

Ambient cabin light. All models/markets have it.

Its orange because the whole lighting cluster is carried over from the 370z and it had an orange led

Would've been nice to change this to blue
Seems really off in the Z
It's easy to change the LED color.

However, blue is the worst possible choice for nighttime illumination.

Several Nissan and Infiniti vehicles have the same light, I've used red or dimmed warm white LED.

It is an internal ambiance light before everyone went to LED trim lights throughout the car. My 2012 G37, 2013 Pathfinder, 2019 Titan, 2024 QX60, and 2024 Performance all had it. The only one in Amber is the Z.

It seems to be just a dim amber cabin light to help you grab your phone or whatever from the center console. I like it.
Yep. It illuminates your console during darkness.

I've had half a mind to get in there and change it. Simply not bright enough to be usable imo. The new screens overpower it.
