Really pretty straight forward and simple, I think everyone just has their own technique after doing it for a while. For your first time, just follow their instructions, which are pretty easy. I always buy the Squirt 'n Squeegee Plus Kit. Clean/prep the area with an alcohol wipe, use either the squirt bottle or included eye dropper to put a blob of paint nearby, then use either the small or large included squeegee to apply a smooth layer of paint, going from all directions to fully fill the chip. Let the paint cure for 10-15 minutes, then use the cleaning solution w/cloth to remove the excess. Buff clean with a microfiber, followed by some spray detailer. I then wait until the following weekend to wax the repair and seal in the freshness.

Weekend project was painting the katanas. Silver didn't work with my car now. Masked, 3M pad scuff and spray four coats of rattle can Krylon classic bronze. Real close match to the wheels, nice subtle accent.

For those of your with the 24 Heritage Edition, I just got off the phone with Drcolorchip and a nice lady named Lisa worked with me to get the new sight orange added to the selection.

Following up last weekend's PDR, I got a Dr. ColorChip kit to restore the paint to back to flawless! I've been using these kits for over a decade on multiple cars, including my C7 & C8, and am always happy with how it turns out.

So I found out something today that I never paid attention to in the past months pertaining to Safelite and my broken front windshield. My ADAS system cannot be calibrated BECAUSE MY CAR IS SITTING 1 INCH LOWER!! I noticed since day one when I lowered my car it became less intrusive of a system and I never cared that it wasn’t being intrusive anymore but now I know why. If your Z is lowered and you didn’t care for the ADAS system do not pay to get it calibrated when you replace your front windshield or else it will fail factory settings calibration. The Safelite tech told me it can be calibrated for the lower ride height through a modified calibration but I’m not going to do that .

I'm 1.1 to 1.2" lower but my Lane Departure still works, easily activated same as before, the other safety ADAS features not tested yet. Strange that calibration range is that sensitive, you would think there would be some allowance or variance in the system.

I think the issue is during calibration. The protocol probably demands that the vehicle is unloaded and the process is to ensure complete factory specs that probably had layers of lawyers involved with during development that the manufacturer couldn't justify conditions other than fully stock.

Being lowered a little bit is probably in the envelope of a fully loaded Z and was accounted for in initial programming. Problem only arises during recalibration.

People with newer trucks that are lifted or have an "off-road" aftermarket bumper that relocated the sensor(s) are also finding out that they sometimes can't get the system recalibrated.
