Have you seen what happens to 240SX, 350Z, 370Z and Infiniti Gs?

I fear what will happen when the goons get ahold of twin turbo power, it's going to make for some exciting police chase videos 😞
Right now, my insurance isn't all that bad on the Z. My agent told me they didn't have much data, yet, on the new Z. I won't be surprised to see my rate start climbing, especially for the Houston metro, when all the Speed Racers with more testosterone than brain cells increasingly seize upon the twin turbo power and all the potential the Z has for performance. Too bad, too many of them won't have the skill or the common sense to go along with the Z.

Do you have driving age dependents in your home?

We have an 18 y/o son, and my insurance quote for a Z is $368/mo. My 2021 Titan Pro-4x is about $100/mo for the same coverage. I was shocked that a 50 y/o driver with good driving/claims record could be so high. The insurance companies already know, the wrecked Z thread on here is proof. We see more Zs on that thread than we do from our usual members here (at least it seems that way, impossibly high numbers in that thread)

Without him at my address, it gets cut down to nearly a third. He's going to college this year, he'll be officially at another address. That's why I've been dragging my feet on getting a Z: not paying $368/mo just because I have a driving age son, and I also don't want to pay 11% sales tax and $1k/yr registration to the wretched State of Washington. Those last 2 I'm just going to have to take it in the pooper

Fortunately, no dependents at home. Sadly, the $368 per month with an 18 y/o son doesn't surprise me. It also wouldn't surprise me if it was higher for my Houston metro, noted for it's high insurance rates and it's craptastic drivers. Woah! 11% sales tax AND $1k/yr registration? Ouch!

Sales guy at Gainesville Nissan says manual 27' Nismo Z will initially only be available in Black Diamond Pearl and will MSRP at $72K... He seemed confident. Can anyone confirm?

If so -- that would be a hard pass. I paid $30k less than that for my 24' MT Performance. It's a nice body kit and seats but...
that is partially true. early in the spring there were allocations for other colors but the last few rounds of orders nissan has indeed limited the color selections and for the NISMO it is currently black only

the dealer does not know the MSRP they are just guessing

The one my dealer says they can get for me is red. And they were saying Pearl White is out there just hard to get.

In your opinion, was it a good guess?

I think 72K is a high guess

black is the only NISMO color previously that didnt have a paint charge so it was like 67K with destination fee? I think a black 2027 NISMO will still be under 70K MSRP. my gut tells me the manual NISMO price will be very similar to the current price.

Wouldn't $72k be about 10% more than a 2026 MSRP?

It's rare for a vehicle price to be revised upward so steeply.

I think they are trying to get you ready for the bend over.....
