AD09s are great tires, they hold up an entire 30 minute track session and retain grip. Not as fast as a Super 200 of course.

You need to replace it every couple years. You should only use the wipers wet. They are hydrophobic and self healing usually too.

Basically, if someone bumps the camera, it has no way to know it's positioned wrong. So, they require it to avoid liability. Also, there is WPF, it's shit, but I still use it now. Better than a windshield every year.
