So, I have a 2024 MT Sport. That means I don't have the sub in the spare tire well and it is seriously lacking. I talked to a car audio shop and they have no info at all on what exists, electronically speaking, in the Z.

Anybody have any tips on what you've been able to do to add some bigger sound and at a minimum more bass and mid range without changing the head unit? I don't really want to change the factory look by changing that but anything else could be on the table.

I'd appreciate some details on anyone else's success.

Good to know. So I have the opportunity to do better. Let's hope!

Mine has what Nissan calls the ”Bose Premium Audio System” and you can’t even tell it has a sub.

I’m not familiar with the setup/components, but my wife’s ‘24 Enclave has a Bose system. It makes mine sound like one of these:

I'm in the minority here, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Bose audio system in the Performance. After the reviews here I was expecting to have to upgrade it, but I've found it's plenty enjoyable for me. I'm fairly picky about music quality (I've had several custom systems in past cars and have nice a nice audio/speaker set-up at home). I don't listen to music at concert-level (or club-level) volumes though, so that may be one of the differences for me.

Bose system in my Silverado blows the one in the Z out of the water. Bad.

Hey. I also have the Sport and updated the Transistor radio sound a bit. Much depends on how much $$$, time and wiring knowledge you have. I added the Blaupunkt 8 inch powered sub. behind the pass. seat and surface mount tweeters on the rear towers. Must be willing to run the powerlines from battery, remove door panels solder wires. The sound is now substantially improved but wish I installed Blaupunkt 10 inch. I lease so did not want to get too carried away with mods.. Good Luck!

FYI the Bose sucks. It sounds like a regular stereo. It's like they took their cheapest shit and donated it to Nissan.
Yeah; the Bose system is also lacking big time. Not sure if this ride can handle more bass depth.

The Bose system only sucks if you want overwhelming bass for hip/hop and the like. Personally, I find the Performance audio system fairly balanced for most music. With that said, there’re are better bass modules but you will need to get it powered. Good luck.

Originally, I felt the same about the Bose system in the car, but I found after messing with the adjustments that it sounds better and more to my liking.

I listen to rap/hip-hop, R&B, and rock/alternative.

Idk the technical jargon, but what I did was Bass +3/4 (I like the boom), tremble +2, and then adjust the fade/balance to the rear just before the system becomes rear dominant (I think -2 or -3). You'll know you went to far with the fade when it sounds like it's coming from behind you.

When I did this, the system sounded fuller and had the bass/punch I was looking for.

It’s a Bose system which gives you a balanced sound. I’m not sure if a Z, the size and design of
Its inside can handle or distribute a deeper bass. I’m OK with it. At the end of the day its a very nice ride inside and out.
