I really want to get rid of the fake exhaust. On the Q50's it is an option in a hidden menu in the display. It doesn't work on the Z the same way though.....

I texted my dealer the screen shots about 2 weeks before the car came in - when they were prepping it (forgot the acronym) reminded them and they did it - also had to remind them not to put front license plate bracket on 100x and they still almost did it.

Something just rubs me wrong having fake noises piped in - instantly makes me annoyed.

It should be an easily accessible option. Not some super secret dealer bs. Soon enough someone who knows someone will be taught the secret and share it with all of us!!

I don't think so.

In the '23 brochure, it seems to be tied to the Performance model. '24 might be different, but probably not.

Where are you finding this at on the 23? I have a 24 Performance and trying to figure out if these cars have this option or not. Every dealership I called so far say it will void the warranty to turn it off.

I downloaded the brochure from Nissan's web site.

Try this page: https://www.nissanusa.com/interactivebrochures/sportscars/nissan-z/nissan-z/index.html

Scroll to the bottom and there should be a "DOWNLOAD PDF BROCHURE" link.

Void the warranty turning off ANC/ASE? Wow. That's...well...uh...a new one.

This voiding warrant is inane - I would double check this - my dealer did it for me.

Sorry to necro but wanted to update with my experience.

I decided to take the car for its after break-in oil change to the dealer because I want ASE and ANC turned off. I am too nice of a person and wasn't going to stand there arguing with the service manager but they charge an hour diagnostic and at their diagnostic price it was about 3 times an oil change to get these turned off. They were adamant that it takes "every bit of an hour" to have it done. Showing them pictures or explaining to them how it doesn't take that long was to no avail.

So just wanted to let anyone else know that was curious about it that dealers are still a mix when it comes to having this done. I am really glad I did it though because the car is much more tolerable without the V8 noises being pumped into the cabin. I hear a bit more air noise but that doesn't bother me. You can actually hear the sound of the engine in the car as well much better. Excited to get the mods rolling in the near future.

Also they put 36 PSI in each of my tires, lol. Hopefully the last time my car goes to the dealer since I only did it to get those things turned off.

I have turned off ASE but still have ANC and with a stock manual exhaust it's too quiet to have more than a vague idea of where your revs are at by listening.

This is annoying but I assume it wont be an issue with an aftermarket exhaust which will be installed soon enough. Nothing wrong with less tyre and wind noise in the cabin imo
This is exactly my situation. I changed the back pipes and it's a little bit loud (although it sounds good when spirited driven)... I was thinking about turning the ASE off but leaving the ANC on.
The reason I changed the pipes was because I needed some sound in order to drive the manual without accelerating it too much. 👍

So true - I can tell you it is so much better with Catback and tune. I have 3" intakes, LDP's resonated and 3" Catback all by RAE Motorsports and so happy with sound - can hear motor and shift accordingly. Will be doing some sound clips of drive bys in the very near future since I just finished my remote tuning with Soinctuned.

I am thinking of getting a 2.5 inch diameter, resonated third party exhaust with stock down pipes

I would rather not go to dealer or cut wires. Thus leaving ANC/ASE on.

Are turning these settings off necessary? I do not mind the pumped in noise. However, not sure how new exhaust will make things which makes me nervous.

No, you don't have to turn them off.

Not necessary but fair warning a 2.5" exhaust with stock dps will still be pretty quiet.

my 6mt with stillen comp exhaust (2.5”) on stock downpipes is pretty loud. I am noticing the ase sounds a lot more now though. I think the ase sounds don’t match since the exhaust and intake sounds the car is making have changed. Makes me want to turn off the ase.
