I was thinking about this. Did the dealership offer a reduced labor cost for installing the heat exchanger? Can you share the labor cost of the installation?
I wouldn’t want the exhaust any louder than it already is with stock down pipes and stillen competition exhaust. Thanks for the advice on what to do if going with downpipes.
I have noticed more power and had higher 1/4 mile trap speeds on every car I have put an exhaust on. Usually more noticeable on turbo cars than na. If you are talking Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Mercedes e350 type cars, I would agree that exhaust might not do much. But it has been very...
my 6mt with stillen comp exhaust (2.5”) on stock downpipes is pretty loud. I am noticing the ase sounds a lot more now though. I think the ase sounds don’t match since the exhaust and intake sounds the car is making have changed. Makes me want to turn off the ase.
Exhaust hanger rubber comes off super easily with the right tool. I bought this one on Amazon for $14. Best $14 spent on a specialty tool. It is only a couple bolts and nuts to remove per hanger and then you can easy access to use this tool.

I finally got to installing the stillen competition exhaust. You need either some deep sockets or mid sockets as the studs stick out pretty far from the nuts. I decided to unbolt the exhaust hangers to get better access to the rubber and I am waiting for my exhaust hanger rubber removal tool to...
I would be interested to try a nismo front bumper and add the auxillary coolers on the side. manual transmission was a requirement in getting the Z for me so nismo trim was not an option.
In seeing this post I was curious about brake cooling so decided to research some more and came across an interesting read:

the tldr version goes something like this:
ducting should be one of the last brake upgrades...
Figuring out those clamps was a real pain. I didn’t have two long flat head so ended up sticking an Allen key to hold open one side of the clamp so I could move my flat head to open the other side. Fortunately the car is still pretty new so the rubber hasn’t hardened much and the band clamps...
I have a stillen comp on order expected delivery next week. I was considering the Nismo track but decided to go with the dual 2.5” on the stillen over the 2.25 on the Nismo.
I just got my Nismo intake and it had a pleasant surprise. Upon opening up the box, I saw the CARB EO sticker. I was a bit worried since I hadn’t seen it advertised as having gotten the CARB approval but figured it looks pretty factory. EO sticker puts that issue to rest. Can’t wait to put it...
Got my splash guards, oil cap and gas cap installed. Nismo intake arriving today. Waiting for my Stillen comp exhaust to ship. Ordered on May 2. Hope it ships soon. Can’t wait to get started on the install.
Perhaps these auxiliary heat exchanger/radiators can be added to non-Nismo z? Although the front bumper doesn’t have the opening in it for these side mounted coolers.
I bought mine online from official Nissan USA parts website. It’s interesting that the fuel cap cover is more expensive than the oil cap. That should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. I ll make a separate post on that piece when it arrives.
