Any regrets?

I've noticed that the Z is pretty hesitant to turn on the high beams in auto mode. Not at all like all the Teslas in my neighborhood that burn my retinas when I walk the dog at night.

I have to turn the high beams myself sometimes because of that issue...

Is the AT good in this car? I am thinking of a Sport AT? I had an AT 350z convertible which I hated the transmission. Test drove the 2023 manual Z last year.

This will by my 4th generations Z/ZX. I am planning to keep my 2022 Miata MT. Btw, see some familiar names from my350z.com days.

the AT is good. 1st gear is basically useless so shift right away. it needs be warmed up. it also wants to be drive hard. going through town paddles are kinda useless. on ramp when slamming gears it totally fine.
it took me awhile to figure this out 1st to 2nd is so crappy if just trying to cruise, it's super laggy, thus shifting to 2nd immediately . you'll figure it out.

What really surprised me is that you have to physically turn the high beams on before they will dim automatically. Every other vehicle I have driven with automatic head lights does not require that you turn high beams on, they do it all automatically. Not impressed, they work okay on back roads, but had to turn off on main road because they did not dim when they should.

weird, mine dim more often than they should... you could have an electrical issue. I fear harness and connector problems are going to be biggest gripe with this generation.

Sold my G80 (2023 M3 for those who don't know their BMW codes) for the Z back in June of 23 could not be happier. yes the car has imperfections, but in comparison to the G80 and the car might as well have drove it self, EVEN WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION! The Z is a Drivers car. You feel the road under the shifts feel clean and notch into place well. The car over all is more focused on the driver experience, In my opinion, than any other Sports car on the market today. Have to say the best driving car since my 2016 Cayman.

Well, I did it a month ago. Sold the 2023 BMW M240i and found a 2024 performance manual in silver
which was very hard to find. Flew to LA to drive it home and got it under MSRP. Took a hit on the BMW, a great car. This is not a daily driver so the fun factor on the BMW just wasn't there for me.
Really enjoying the Z and not looking back.

Curious: the M240i was on my list when I was car shopping in 2023. What made you change your mind? For me, I ended up picking the Z because of the 6MT. I also considered the M2, but I like the looks of the Z better than the (at the time) redesigned M2.

It's a few things. The M240i was always my second choice but at the time the Z was hard to get in my specs and they all had ADM's. I really wanted a manual transmission although the BMW's auto transmission is about as good as it gets. Even though both cars weigh about the same, the M240i feels like a much bigger car especially with the long hood. I was not wild about the color choices on the BMW. I went with the new gray and it looked good but kind of trendy. I see that color on a lot of newer cars. The Z is my fun car and the fact I got it under MSRP was icing on the cake so I had to make the move.

Kinda like high beam controls on Chevy / Ford in the 90's, every manufacturer has their way of doing things. Push the stalk forward and leave it there. Like other have said, mine works very well and if anything tends to dim too much for my preference... these bastards with their damn light bars that they have wired to their low beams...I wanted to put one of those cop car spotlights on mine to shine in their faces... with my luck they'd cross traffic into me.

My only legit complaint - no remote start.

Noticed oddities after 4,000 miles:
- In cold weather (32* -) the shift from reverse to 1 is slow, and the 1st to 2nd shift is HARD.
- It REALLY seems like the rear axle is fully locked, not limited slip. When pulling out of a parking spot in either forward or reverse, the rear in mine chatters and stutters... like a solid axle would.
- This car is NOT for tall or even slightly tall people.
- Do NOT take the traction control off on wet pavement... instant sideways spin.

- I LOVE this car.

Wife is driving this Z, but I had the 370 some years back. I'm happy it's just an 'update' to the 370 because I LOVED my 370. I do wish it have a little more aggressive sound (coming from two corvettes) but not a big deal. The rear tires Do spin easily when you hump on the throttle, as many have stated. Eventually, I'll replace with something more sticky, but that might be a while.

burned through stock rubber at 10k, so it won't be too long ?

- This car is NOT for tall or even slightly tall people.

I am 6'2" (~188cm) and fit just fine in the Z. Have good head room too. Very comfortable.

6'3" 230lbs and car is very comfy for me no issues. Longest drive so far was about 3 hours felt better getting out than I do after 3 hours in the explorer.

I have no complaints about this car, it's great especially as a fun/overnight date trip car.

I don't think I would enjoy it as a daily driver but that's not what I got it for.
