It's a few things. The M240i was always my second choice but at the time the Z was hard to get in my specs and they all had ADM's. I really wanted a manual transmission although the BMW's auto transmission is about as good as it gets. Even though both cars weigh about the same, the M240i feels...
Well, I did it a month ago. Sold the 2023 BMW M240i and found a 2024 performance manual in silver
which was very hard to find. Flew to LA to drive it home and got it under MSRP. Took a hit on the BMW, a great car. This is not a daily driver so the fun factor on the BMW just wasn't there for me...
Tried getting a Z a couple of years ago. Could not get the color or interior I wanted and refused to pay the mark-up. Bought a 2023 BMW M240i instead. Great car, fast, fantastic interior but I just wasn't GAGA on it.
Fast forward to a month ago, found a Silver Performance, black/grey interior...
Looks fantastic and nice garage too. I agree, I have only seen one Z in the wild in the last two years.
That said, I picked mine up yesterday...Driving is fun again!
Gave up on getting a performance -manual Z a year and a half ago and bought a BMW M240i. Now that the NISMO Z is out and prices are falling a bit I'm considering selling the BMW and getting a NISMO. The M240i is a fantastic high performance touring car but there is something about the NISMO Z...
I went to look at this Z. Really nice guys at this dealership, they invited me to take it for a test drive by myself. Love the car but I would take to much of a hit selling my 2023 M240i which has been an awesome car.
Really good article. Over a year ago I gave up on getting a Z. I was very particular about the color and manual transmission. I was not wild about paying a large markup either.
I decided to get a BMW M240i, ordered it to my exact specs and it took about two months to be delivered. BTW: Same...
Got a call from Greenville,SC Nissan today. They have a gun metal grey, performance manual that they have had on the lot for a while. Sounds like they are willing to negotiate on the ADM. With shipping to the West coast it wouldn't be worth it to me even at MSRP. Besides I've already given up...
Found a black performance manual in Merced CA. They wanted 15K over, offered 5K over knowing it was doubtful they would take it. 10K over was their bottem line. I've had it with these greedy Nissan dealers, going to pull the trigger on a 2023 BMW M240i. Fantasic car for less money and at MSRP...
