Gave up on getting a performance -manual Z a year and a half ago and bought a BMW M240i. Now that the NISMO Z is out and prices are falling a bit I'm considering selling the BMW and getting a NISMO. The M240i is a fantastic high performance touring car but there is something about the NISMO Z that does it for me. Any thoughts from NISMO Z owners?
Thanks

I have a BMW M2 Competition, and a Nismo Z. I love them both! I feel like my BMW is a better car overall. I like the double clutch transmission better, the better stereo, and the fit and finish. Plus it's way more comfortable. And if I had to pick only one, it would be the BMW. However, I think the Z feels more special and focused as a sports car (like a "cheap" supercar). I also like that it's unique and retro looking. Plus I always wanted a Z as a kid, so it's just cool. I bought the Z to enjoy daily (short trips), and to take to a track day occasionally. And I'm really loving it, but the M2 Comp. is more special to me because they don't make them anymore (the new gen M2 is a little bloated) and I like having something that is harder to get. It's a2021 with only 2,300 miles on it so far. I got my Z a few months ago, and I already have about 1,000 more miles than my BMW!
All that said, there is no bad choice. I can only say that you should test drive the Z to see if it's what you would want. I just have to warn you that the seats feel great and supportive in the showroom, but I get cramped after about 1/2hr in them. The longest I went was 3 1/2 hrs, but I was aching, lol (but actually better than I expected).

I cross shopped a M240i with the Z (in Australia we only get one - it’s Performance spec - and we get the Nismo)

Test driving the M240i, yes, AWD, BMW quality and build, yes of course it’s the better if the two but I opted for the Z. A week out from receiving my Z, tr dealership offered me a Nismo but without a delivery date.

If I could go back, the M2 wasn’t out but I would have waited, now knowing a month and gotten the Nismo.

In saying that, I couldn’t be happier with the Z. Performance is great, it could be tighten up a bit with some modifications and an exhaust but I’m a happy owner.
