After a couple of years of watching and waiting, I finally got a chance to test drive a Z. I am close to going out of state to purchase one, as the local dealer was not honest about pricing. I found one with nearly $7k in discounts for end of year clearance, which puts the performance model at the price point I feel it should have been all along. My question is, does anyone regret buying the Z? I have owned many BMW's, but hate their current offerings. I have a 16 Camaro SS currently that I will keep, and a 22 Mustang Ecoboost I would trade in. This would be my daily driver. Just wanted some feedback from current owners before I make the commitment.
Thanks for the help.

I traded my challenger hellcat, for a new manual performance 3 months ago. Since that thing is double the weight, the Z is pretty close power/time wise.

Fantastic car, they did a great job, I love driving it. To me, this is what Nissan does best and I love the styling.

No regrets here. She’s not my daily though. I smile every time I drive her though.
Actually the only regret I have is paying a little more than msrp last year.

I love mine. I have a 24 performance. She is my daily. This is my first sports car. Very very happy with my purchase. I paid MRSP not a penny over. Hope you pull the trigger.

I have had mine now for five months. Zero regrets. This thing puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. It is put away for the winter so now I have one more reason to look forward to spring.

My ZR34 NISMO is my 2nd Z. I still have my Z33 R-tune. No regrets. Love them both and will try to keep them forever.

Only regret is that I didn't wait for the -10k MSRP discount =P It's a great car, and the prices right now are very attractive. Don't get a Supra if you hate the current BMWs, lol.

I thought about this question for a beat. I paid MSRP in April 2023, but probably only because the dealership I found wasn't greedy, so no regrets on price.

Is she fun to drive? Schyeah! But not perfect. I'm still on stock tires (will replace when the factory tires wear out), and they break loose way to easily. The car doesn't seem like a complete package.

The quality level isn't what I'd expect for the price. My G35 and G37 were cheaper, and higher quality. So...am I expecting too much? My gripes about quality are fit and finish (hatch popping, paint quality, windshield clarity, e g.).

I traded in my 2017 Mustang Ecoboost for my Z. No real regrets, other than paying almost MSRP for it.

The Z has way more power and better handling, even if it's not a track monster. It's awesome to drive, on the road and when I got it on the track for a bit. It's also way more unique and draws a lot of comments.

I think my biggest complaint is that the interior trim is kinda cheap and a bit creaky. But I wasn't looking for luxury. I just think the price was a bit high for what it is.

Only regret is I can't drive mine right now, with the weather and all. What color are you planning on getting?

Ive had mine around 1.5 years and still love it. Well mostly love it lol. The front end still kinda sucks to be honest. Its grown on me through the years and looks better in person, but its still the worst looking part of the car to me. Absolutely love the sides and rear tho! I also have a ton of mods on mine to get it where i wanted. I dont think I'd be enjoying the car stock at all. Overall its fun, still gets a ton of attention, and I enjoy rowing through the gears.

Zero regrets

Except I could have gotten a Nismo two months later but cbf.

Except that 4-5-6 months later you could buy a Demo Nismo for the same price as a Z.

but no two sh!ts given right now as I love my Rosewood Z.

definitely had buyers remorse. Everytime I get in it my mood improves, heart rate goes up.
I paid mine off in 9 months, sucks that the nismo is almost the same price I paid for performance.
guess I should have just made normal payments and I could have swapped into a nismo. regardless mine will be faster than a nismo with intake exhaust and a tune from Z1.

good luck you won't regret it.

I never buy the same car twice so I've have many different makes and model sports cars over the years. I love my Z, its not my daily so I'm out for blood every time I drive it and its a wild ride every time. Its definitely not the best car I've owned in any particular aspect but for some reason I cant stop thinking about driving it. Numbers on paper don't tell the whole story, the car has a great "feel" to it. It looks great, sounds great, drives great and with the current market its a bargain imo and a great platform to mod if you are into that.

Not really regrets.... but just observations after DD'ing it for about 2 months... about 3500 miles so far.

1. No heated steering wheel? Even $20k econoboxes have heated steering wheels! (It's 10* here)
2. Android Auto is a total POS - Not Nissan's fault though.
3. For $53k... there really should be totally wireless phone integration and a charger.
4. Took me a few weeks to get used to how the knobs work since I 'm at that stage where I can't see well at exactly the distance those knobs are lol, but the AC/heat is awesome.
5. They should have put a little more thought into the visors... since you sit so low there are a lots of cracks the sun gets through.
6. Glasses holder in the roof console would have been nice.
7. Owner manual doesn't fit in the f'ing glove box!?!?!?
8. Seats are NOT great for 3 hour or longer trips... but maybe my ass is just out of shape.
9. The My Nissan app... yeah that's not even worth downloading if you have an Android.
10. This thing is so uncommon I strongly doubt there'll ever be much of an aftermarket support for interior things... like a nice bag to hold your "oh shit" shit (bigass knife, rope, etc).

My only HONEST complaint.... and this one is on Nissan. How can you NOT have remote start so that you can bring the engine up to operating temp in colder weather without sitting in the friggin car for 5 minutes? That seems like a big miss to me, and the really fat, fairly dirty sales guy didn't know it wasn't on the car. Huge fail there IMHO.

I'm still on stock tires and the damned thing breaks loose regularly. I think it's more the conditions of the road, but I can't imagine the traction control kicking in so often being good for the car.

All ^ that being said... I am pretty damned happy with it. (But I do miss my Rebel, lol)
