Hey all, I’ve decided to do my own oil change on my Z since it’s technically the break-in oil change. I ordered the CZP under shroud and came across the entire discussion about Nissan’s plastic oil pan. Has anyone swapped theirs out for the Z1 or the CZP aluminum pan? Easy install or no? Seems straight forward especially at lower miles but I’m not sure if it’s worth the $350-$450 cost.

@Thefunk just installed the z1 oil pan. Proper torque caused the threads to break. Z1 sent him another one. I'd go with CZP. It's anodized too and has the details on it laser etched

Welp, that doesn't make me feel good about my Z1 spacers. CZP did send me their instructions for their drain pan and, FWIW, their drain plug is the same torque spec (22-28 ft.-lbs.).

How do you like the CZP under shroud? I'm about to order one.

Make absolutely sure the under-shroud will still fit after the bigger AL oil pan is installed. On my 370Z Nismo, Z1 techs promised the would both fit. In fact they did not. You end up with spacers on the shroud & lack of ground clearance. I then scraped the under-shroud on a speed bump, but the 370Z Nismo suspension & wheels were completely OEM.

I too vote for buying CZP on the above basis. I’m not saying Z1 stuff isn’t OK, just that in my case last year, I found their products didn’t work together.

Imagine making parts that didn't at least allow them to coexist together. Wild

Agreed, this is pretty wild. The Z1 pan does mean very large at least in pics. I’ll ask CZP to confirm both will fit.

I’m not bashing Z1 but I don’t buy anything from them, there are other good options that appear to be higher quality for same or better price.
It's ok I'll bash them for you :)

I have the mishomoto undershroud, now I wondering if the CZP oil pan will be compatible.

I think any aluminum thread is susceptible to breaking, I will eventually install a steel thread insert into the replacement pan Z1 sent me. Been lazy tbh. So far the longer bolt has been holding the oil in the pan. 🤷‍♂️

Did you ever get an answer this?
Yes, sorry. Forgot to post! Yes - both CZP parts will fit together. It’s tight but it does fit.

From CZP:
On ours, our oil pan is technically a TINY bit shorter than stock. It clears with the CZP undershroud, but it is very close-- if you press in on it, you can make it contact the pan (though in normal driving I don't believe that would ever cause an issue), and the same is true of stock too.
