Nissan doesn’t want it to become loose and rattle under any circumstances. 
Not at all. I just put it in neutral.very interested. Did U have to remove the console and put some type of mechanical clockwise resistance resistance on the shaft to counter the counter clockwise of the shift knob being removed.
Yeah, what's up with that glue they use? It's horrible, I haven't cleaned it off yet and I'm dreading it.I replaced my shifter in my 27 Nismo with the same one that Mr. Mac used. I had to use tools to remove it. It's not damaged but it's not without marks either.
I love the new shifter. The dust debris you see by the phone charger is the glue they place at the factory...

I added the same knob that Mr. Mac and C. Perdomo added. Unlike Mr. Mac, I sure as hell was not able to take the stock shift knob off "unscathed". I made a vid of the struggle. It might help you decide if you want to attempt this job.can U tell us which tools U used,,Im on the fence on whether I want to try this or not.
