Nice. Please let us know how the system turns out. Bet you're itching to get it.
Have heard same concerns about JL being able to remain a top player in the market now being owned by Garmin. We've all seen way too many times in the past what unfortunately happens when otherwise great companies...
OK, after a ton of research, master plan for getting the Z's audio system up to snuff is just about complete. Only thing left to do is to find a proper 6x9 component midbass woofer since JL doesn't offer. Anyway, here's a peek at the plans for anyone interested. System will be fully active...
Been a manual guy all my life, but holy smokes, after nearly two months now driving the Z NISMO my apprehension about it being auto is practically gone. It's amazing how responsive and lightning fast the NISMO's AT shifting is (especially in Sport+ Mode), and since I've finally gotten pretty...
There are two blanks in the NISMO version center console since the Recaro seats (which are fantastic BTW) that come in this version unfortunately aren't heated, so the seat heater switches that normally go there in Sport/Performance version are blanks. My plan is to use one of those blanks for...
UPDATE for anyone following this; That mystery speaker in left dash-only that initially looked like a single tweeter is in fact a dedicated speaker for driver safety alerts, hands-free call audio, and navigation prompts. Confirmed this last night.
Co-sign on that. Definitely want a high quality matte/non-glare type film to control nasty reflections and fingerprints. Have always added such films to every one of my iPhones and iPads and found them to be indispensable.
Here's another shot from yesterday. IMO Nissan absolutely nailed the lines on the new Z. Really love how Nissan went back to original 240/260/280 design cues capturing that retro goodness with tasteful modern updates.
Here's a peak at the type of lights I'm looking at for this. Very compact and powerful. Should mount perfectly to bottom of large horizontal aluminum crossbar that's tucked back behind the grille.
FAO anyone following this and interested in same sorta installation; A couple others on another forum were kind enough to provide these useful tips for accessing the area behind grille.

Here's the info for anyone else interested in doing the swap from the outdated factory incandescent bulbs to LED. In addition to red, they are also available in 'cool' white, amber, and blue (possibly other colors as well, but those listed are already confirmed).
Anyone here with experience with this area happen to know best route/method for accessing this area behind grille where yellow rectangles are placed so that installation of fog lights can accomplished?
What was purpose of disconnecting the two rear speakers? Also, do you recall color of wires that were used from original sub to feed audio signal to aftermarket sub? Going off memory here, but I think there were maybe four wires in the OEM connector that plugs into the Bose sub.
Right on. I'm actually jealous of that wishing the OEM system was at least at an acceptable level (for us anyway) because I really did NOT want to have to upgrade anything on this particular vehicle.
