My thought exactly. It backfired on them the first time...

I will say though, whatever they're doing, it's keeping people who buy cars for clout away which is nice. Supra did the exact opposite.

I'm not happy about the build to order approach.

I'm very impulsive with my car buying. I stay away from the dealerships until I'm ready for a new car, then I just go to dealerships and if they happen to have what I've been thinking about for a while, I'll buy it right there if pricing is reasonable.

My wife hates spending money, she never agrees to a new vehicle, or any expense for that matter, but she really doesn't get mad if I occasionally show up with a new car. If she knew I had a deposit on an order, she'd be complaining every single day until the car shows up, trying to convince me to cancel it.

I am seeing A LOT of very low mileage used Zs in my area, and I suspect it is due to people not realizing how expensive the insurance is (for me, 3x that of my comparable value Titan) and/or it's a lot of money for a vehicle that is technically not very useful....

If Nissan makes the Z order only, I doubt we'll see so many low mileage 2027s showing up as used with a healthy discount. I feel people will think things through a bit more and they'll only commit to the purchase if it makes sense....

Or, we'll see plenty of 2027s new on lot because either the dealership orders them anyway, or people back out and the Z shows up anyway.

I just took my Titan in for warranty work and they had a Nismo and Heritage 6MT out front. I think even though the dealers know they sell slowly, they probably get tired of looking at SUVs and Altimas every day.

And because they had Zs out front, I was finally able to drive one. If they are special order, how does a potential customer test drive to see if it's what they want?

That's awesome!

I have an 18 y/o son at home, so my insurance takes that into consideration. I don't blame them, the Z is way too dangerous if an idiot is driving it, which statistically is the group my son is in. Although, he definitely wouldn't try to drive it or take it out without my permission.
Fortunately, he's leaving for college in a few months, but the Z will still be the most expensive insurance in our fleet.

Heard the 2026 Heritage bronze wheels are not the same forged Rays as the Proto Spec’s. Not even made by Rays. Is this true?

Any close ups of those wheels?

From Nissan’s website. The [*] says, “Please see the actual vehicle and colors at your local Nissan dealer.

The press release on nissannews for the ‘24 Heritage (New Sight Orange) says, “19-inch alloy wheels.” Even cast, if RAYS made them, I would assume it would say RAYS. Ultimately not sure though.

Just for grins, what’s the dealer stick on price? I’m assuming there’s the inevitable dealer add-ons, like a several thousand dollar wax job. ;)
