Markup suppressing sales?interesting so a little less than half the Zs built so far have been sold
yeah, i think a combination of...Markup suppressing sales?
Don't forget the stop sales that happened.yeah, i think a combination of...
1. greedy dealerships and nissan allowing it.
2. its been so long, the hypes died down...
3. the cars performance below expectations...not the zupr4 or mustang killer people were hoping for.
4. starting price for performance being over $50k. way more then hinted at the beginning. i joined here because of the rumors of $35k base and $40k higher trim.
5. gr86 impoved over 1st gen and all the outstanding reviews coupled with a much lower starting price.
6. grc...its prob the best hot hatch to come out in years. a lot of people are excited about it.
7. manual zupr4...with all the Zs marked up and adm, it put it closer together in price...
8. nissan taking so long to launch that it allowed the compitition to build new cars and improve others while people got fustrated waiting.
look back and see how many of us bought other vehicles during the 2 yr wait. i bought a gt86 and 2 weeks ago bought a nissan pickup ?
9. did i mention greedy dealers?
I think this may be the true reason, aside from lower production numbers in the first year (approx.).I'm guessing interest rates and mark ups are the leading factor in lower sales numbers.

With a looming recession where manufacturing is already dropping to near-recession levels (and likely to dip into actually becoming a recession in the next month or three), I think Nissan may actually limit the production of Z's in favor of more profitable vehicles. With a few years of this, I'd expect the talking heads at the top to ponder whether or not it's even worth it making the Z, then it gets the chopping block in like 2026-2027. Purely speculation though ?Will the '23 model year cars be more desirable as resales, say within the next 5 years? Low production numbers could be a factor in good resale value unless the other years have similar numbers of units produced. If the Z's were only produced for a few years and Nissan stopped making them, prices would certainly go up.
Absolutely shitty numbers. No wonder its now mid April and I’ve yet to see one on the road.https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/nissan-370z-sales-figures/
