Nice to see a few cars here, maybe a few of the Canadian reviewers like Throttle House can get some driving time soon.

the US sold roughly 27,000 Nissan 370Z the first year of production. id imagine trying to manage that amount of sales with the ongoing shortages would be incredibly hard. Canada on the other hand had sales figures of just 500 units the first year of the 370z. if that stays true to the new Z I would think nissan would only have to deliever on about 25% pre-ordered or roughly 125 units and that is much more manageable to get the customer what they need and have a positive experience. that is just my take on why Nissan hasnt dropped US ordering!

So here is the latest i just heard from my Regional GM of the Nissan Group out here. I just emailed him (he is the owner of all the dealerships and Group GM) about the Insta post above and he got back to me in two minutes. He said this:

Yes there are two Zs in Canada that are preproduction. They will be travelling from dealership to dealership across Canada over the next several weeks. We have yet to receive when and how and what but that is as of last week what I heard. These vehicles unfortunately are not to be driven there are only to be looked at when they go to the dealership and each dealership will only have them for a couple hours at most . Pricing isn’t expected until mid May because that’s when the US is expected to speak to pricing. Hope to be able to report more sooner than later. Talk soon

Soooo who knows?

im not sure how many Aus sold first year, but they sold a total of approx 4200 from 2009-2020….so looking like very similar numbers to Canada
meaning even if they were to supply everyone in a Canada and Aus with a Z who wanted one this year, combined it’s probably going to be a 1000 cars

So as much as I hate to say it ….maybe my joking ways of servicing us first before moving onto the US is not far off the mark…In reality combined ( Au, Can) we only need about 3.7% of what the US does to make everyone happy in the first year….everyone!

that’s actually a pretty crazy stat

Wonder what they will end up doing with those 2 after production models start.

This is normal. Before the Titan came out, I came across a preproduction unit at a store in Sebring. Looked normal on the outside, but door cards were bare cardboard with vinyl seats.

OMG if he calls me with something like that I might just lose it a bit ?.

At worst, I think it'll probably be something to the effect of "hey we can take your money now! No other details yet though."

I'll update y'all when I know more.
It’s the. 1st….what inspirational news did your dealer have to share?
or was it a cruel April Fools hoax just to further drive our hopes into the ground ?

All honesty it’s 13 weeks to July ….

There were actually some videos posted online with people getting in starting them and revving them etc. It was the first time I heard the difference between the open and closed valve for the automatic sport exhaust. And you could hear the difference. I just wish someone would be more clear about whether the manual has an open valve exhaust all the time or not
