The salesperson I talked to was Tony in Greer SC
It was Ryan Grady at Crown Nissan in Greenwood SC who I spoke to. I have since spoken to the GM Chris Crosby and he said he wasn't sure when they would be in but all dealerships would be getting one.

I just texted the sales rep Kyle at Dick Smith Nissan on Two Notch road in Columbia, SC. He said production starts in April and each dealership will initially receive one Z. They can’t order but must just take whatever Nissan sends them. They don’t know when they will receive that one. He thinks orders will start in June. They have three locations here in Columbia; each one will get a Z.

Prefacing this by saying I'm skeptical this is happening, and encouraging everyone to take it with a grain of salt since it appears to be an isolated event ( @McLovin157 have you heard anything? I think you're the only dealer-associated person we have on here), but IF it is true, I could see it playing out like this:

a) it's not actually for sale, but simply a showroom queen, to build hype between now and June
b) mark it up to hell and back and/or be very hesitant to sell it, similar to what we saw with the GTI release in the early days, namely because of lack of inventory

Happy to eat my words if I'm wrong, but given there remains so much we don't know, I don't see how they could rush to fill in the gaps in just over a month. Would also think that, if they were to get one/dealer, markups would be astronomical and that could kneecap the launch.
This is not happening at all I don't think. In Canada we have the yellow Z and it was in Toronto. BUT it got off the boat in Vancouver which is where all the Sea Cans come. My guess is the press car from Toronto will make its way to Vancouver next.

So this is a completely different launch strategy than Canada. We had to spec ours out with colours and trim.

If this is all true I'll give up all hope because Nissan is fully turning this into a clown show. Imagine allowing canada choose their colors and specs, but not USA, it's just RNG. Embarrassing to see such a huge business struggle to do it's one job, get people the cars they want. With a car thats roots were catered to the US market.

What an awful time to be a car enthusiast. With such great cars that manufacturers design creates, just to become a clown show in the rest of the process.

I'm more and more skeptical on price now than ever. I bet Nissan is going to charge higher than first thought on performance trim because they see people paying mark ups because apparently everyone is so rich money doesn't matter. Then the dealerships will mark them up on top of it.

Going to have a talk with my kiddo and let him know we won't be getting a car this year.

no disrespect to @McLovin157 but he doesn’t seem to know anymore than what we do….in fact I think we’ve told him a thing or two?

I can assure you that unless you like in a different country ie Canada or Australia (I don't know shit about those markets) there isn't to much I don't know. Though I will never turn down info I don't know. The US market is a freaking mess right now.

I do agree that it is incredibly disappointing that the US didn't get preorders. A part of me understands why they wouldn't (If you can't even come close to filling the demand why try?) However it does feel like unnecessary neglect to the largest Z car market in the world to not do so.

Pricing though I don't see getting to crazy (MSRP that is) because Nissan will want to stay competitive with the MK5. I am very confidant the Performance automatic wont peak over 50k unless you do a multitude of add ons. That will leave the manual Performance between 45-47 give or take.

Your biggest problem is going to be actually getting one this year. Rumors around the dealer sphere that are circulating are only exasperating the lack of inventory we are currently experiencing.

To be candid...there really isn't anything to know except a confirmed price, expected supply chain, manufacturing run dates and delivery dates. Quite honestly bro we know as much as you do. The rest has been anecdotal just like the rest of us and reasoning from guess work. My GM directs 5 lucrative Infiniti/Nissan locations and knows nothing. And he hung with the brass (was flown down) in San Diego a month ago. Still knows nothing, even after being in your neck of the woods. Some good advice for us all would be to take a step back and stop driving ourselves crazy. I can see the role of a sales guy is to bring value add to a forum...but there is nothing more lamentable than a sales guy with no cars. So I can see why you keep trying. But all you are providing is guesswork. Not any insider information.
