I want to get a 2027 Z, but I'm not fond of the black roofs on a painted car. Wish they offered a complete painted car that the roof and body are the same color. Yep, I'm a boomer too. Like the old style 240Z paint jobs that had the whole car in one color.

Not all colors include the black roof, its about half & half.

If the Z does not have a forged crank or internals, I would not trust these motors making big power. It is a ticking time bomb. The one plus for my Supra, is that the B58 was fully forged. I guess time will tell.

It depends on what big power means to someone, the VR is pretty robust, it depends on each persons goal.

At some point the open deck of the VR30 will be the gating item when considering “monster” power, if that’s what you want to call it. Not sure if anyone’s done closed deck inserts, or if the big runners were seeing have left the block as-is.

On another note, if Nissan’s going to push the Z out with 500+ on gas, and they’re bringing the GT-R back, you can count on the next Godzilla being an EV, or a hybrid heavily relying on the electric side.

How much weight would AWD add? The Z, especially the NISMO is already heavier than a brick $#it-house. Guessing without any factory weight saving you're creeping in on a 4K lb curb weight.
The G and Q coupes could be had as either AWD or RWD, the weight increase is around 220 pounds.

It can definitely be done with the Z, the Infiniti FM cars had different front subframe, front suspension, firewall and floorpan.
Nissan could do it with a few clicks of the mouse seeing as how they're the same platform.

I had an AWD Q60, and despite having a different floorpan for the AWD transfer case, you couldn't tell inside the vehicle, even the front floormats are the same between AWD and RWD.

It was a very heavy car, you could feel the engine straining against the weight..... although the Infiniti coupes weighed several hundred pounds more than a Z already.
You'd at least have a significant traction advantage in poor conditions, the AWD was a blessing in the winter and a heavy curse in the summer

Never driven an AWD car (sports car). What leads to the "heavy curse in the summer" thing?

I had three Audi quattros. The last one being a TT which I replaced for the Z. The AWD is definitely good for traction but yes... the weight makes a difference. When I used to take the A4 Audi Quattro for service, the dealer would give me the VW equivalent which was only front wheel drive. I could feel a noticeable difference.

AWD can affect low speed steering feel, although I didn't notice it with the Q, but some enthusiasts will RWD convert AWD vehicles, such as the Audi R8.

In the summer, RWD with good tires performs just fine and doesn't have to deal with drivetrain loss or weight. Basically, a RWD Infiniti coupe will spank an AWD Infiniti coupe in the summer. Quicker acceleration, more nimble handling and better weight distribution

Depends on where you drive mostly..
Wide open country RWD is no compromise....
Twisty, tight, mountain roads. no comparison ........ AWD every time!

Audi R8 is a great car ..... a mate has an earlier model and its a very nice handling car ...

Why there are not 700HP 8sec Qs. Not as fast in straights as 700HP Zs.

I remember there was a poster here claiming the internals on this motor could only handle 500hp. I'm happy to see he was incorrect.
Long term? And most have different turbos and more than just MINOR modifications. Fixed.
