My thought is to get on coils and Street FUCAs and see how things go. May change to Race ends as a test (around $100), and possibly go SPL/NISMO.

Not Buy Once-Cry Once by far, but I wanted to get a feel for the car with the coils on stock FUCAs, but also want camber correct, so my choice was throwing money at Z1.

I went for Buy Once-Cry Once on the coils, so I call it a wash.

The brand shaming on here is fierce. maybe if I had more hands-on experience with mods and performance parts I’d understand the fight.

Personally, I've got no issue with the buy once, cry once mentality. But when a full set of SPL FUCAs, midlinks, rear toe + camber arms is knocking at $5k, I'd be looking for savings.
Springs are already a shortcut I would never recommend

Grab a good set of coilovers and sell the springs

I suggest getting your car lowered and go get it aligned. You’re more than likely going to be less the -2* camber up front. An M2, 3, 4 come with a target of -2* from the factory. (From what I understand). You might not need to camber correct. I’m dropped 1 1/4” and I’m fine with my -1.9*. (For now)

“brand shaming?”
We arent kids in middle school comparing sneakers brands for cool points

you guys signed up for this. You bought a $50k sports car and want to modify it. All im doing is point to a proven company that makes good parts that are mechanically needed

dont be mad at me or the price. Nissan provides NO CAMBER/CASTER ADJUSTMENT in front and around 1 deg in reae

be mad at Nissan
If theyre already prerecording had given the Z better alignment adjustment we could skip all this

and you can go ahead talk to whatever experienced alignment technician you can find in the area that actually works on modified cars. Ask them about the difference between cheap arms and good ones

lastly
Ya’ll arent poor so i dont wanna hear it
I had to watch folks tell me how SWAYBARS are sooo important and had to be added
Dont tell me the arms dont matter

Not planning to drop a ton, but I feel like I’m going to like the drop and lower more than the current plan. I got a camber gauge for roughing it in to get me through a few days to let the springs settle, then taking it to a shop. Unless something feels off and I need the alignment pronto.

That is the lower price for all their components and is $3000. You can add the not need Billet parts to make it $200 more.

You can find packages.

There are lower price options out there, but I been talking to a few that have recommended them over others.

Referral to SPL is that they are actually that good. From suspension techs that work on the cars to people who use them at the track, across different brands or platforms, over many years.

No negative experience with GK Tech. They are an Australian brand, seems like they're getting their US side up. Seen then mostly used in drift community, as they offer steering mods for greater angle.

Spherical only. Its not a big deal. Lower profile tires and spring/damping are far greater factors in ride quality.

And I gotta say. . . you bought a $50,000 sports car. C'mon. No sense cheaping out on suspension, and worrying about ride quality is hilarious. Get better coilovers and the ride's fine.
$5k sports car to a $100k sports car, the brand name will always be subjective. I can get Product A (GKTech) cheaper than Product B (SPL), and they both fix camber. Thats like comparing BC Racing to KWs. They both adjust ride height 🤷🏽‍♂️

If youre trying to be the fastest on track, then I would agree with you on going Top Tier shelf. At the same time, hope youre getting sponsored for their brand on your car. Otherwise, whats the point?

SPL parts website is not the cheapest price out there
if you shop around other vendors have specials and codes and such
I got my stuff from import parts pro during a sale almost a decade ago

black Friday is usually the lowest it gets

it not “subjective”
you seem to want to pretend this is some art contest where the prettiest picture is whatever you like

the GK tech stuff is probably fine, but just look at the design. The obvious weld, lack of boxed support to connect the triangle, and the biggest difference is the use of a jam nut to secure the ends. SPL has the double adjuster that locks with a hex wrench, which will make your suspension techs life much easier when theyre under your car

it’s one thing to gk tech for your budget or project drift car that is kind of a throwaway, but you all bought brand new sports cars and wanna cut corners. This is insane to me.

I don’t need a “sponsorship” to tell people to do things properly, doing it for money would defeat the purpose of being honest

$3K for all that in the package shown is actually a great quality buy for the SPL's proven quality. Then again, those components are useful if you continue to 'tune' your suspension, mostly for track applications, different track configs etc. For street use it's overkill, get the more reasonably priced kits out there, just go for UCAs that are easily adjustable without removing the ball joint, that's a pain.

Yeah, I wanted full adjustability and to have a very track capable car.
I usually over build my cars for what I end up doing with them, but this one might be different.
I will say that the quality and the ease of adjustability of the SPL is nice.

I learned A LOT from this thread about alignment, lowering, etc.

Great discussion.
