in real life i believe the nismo has less clearance than non-nismo

the fenders have attachment points that protrude into the wheel well

they aren't real fender flares, btw. Just plastic tacked on in a way that makes clearance worse

as with ever, the best way to achieve proper fitment is do the real work

rolled fenders
proper wheel size selection
custom alignment

Haven’t experienced any rubbing (normal driving) yet on 25 mm all around. That being said, Haven’t driven over large pot holes are real aggressive cornering yet. And I have the lowered configuration with more neg camber.

Z1's stock height spacers are 20mm and it's literally perfect. IMO, the 25mm stick out slightly. I believe Z1's "lowered" spacer kit is 25mm.

I’m torn on this. The car needs to be lowered a bit, but looks so good at stock ride height and 20mm spacers. Can you go 20mm with a slight drop?

That’s correct. I got the lowered configuration and they are 25mm all around. Reason being is you getting more camber as you lower the car.

Are they a simple bolt on or do you need different length studs?

20mm would probably look better if only going a slight drop. I've got the Z1 lowered 25mm spacers with an inch of drop and they are almost too wide.

A small 20-25mm won’t have much impact, I wouldn’t stress it. Has spacers on my 350z for years never had a single issue.

If these cornholes don’t have to worry about wheel bearings, you and your 25mm spacers MOST CERTAINLY, DO NOT have to worry about wheel bearings.

It does put more load on them by creating a larger distance from the wheel bearing to the attachment point, which will wear them faster. However as mentioned, it's not a massive increase in load with the size we typically use on the Z's, and wheel bearings are overbuilt and cheap to replace.

Of course it's better to have wheels with the correct offset, but since nissan didn't do that for us our options are spacers or new wheels.

Crap, here we go… Not saying one is better or worse, but based on the little knowledge I have of mechanical stuff, putting a 20mm spacer on a wheel would have the same affect on the bearing as the same wheel/tire with a 20mm lower offset. A bearing mounted vertically with an upward load is impacted more negatively the further that load is from the vertical center line of the bearing. Taking it to the extreme just as an example, a wheel/tire with a 1 foot spacer would induce a lot more radial load on a bearing than without the spacer because the same upward force being applied is further away from the bearing (more ā€œleverageā€ may be a better way to say it). The forces would be the same with that same wheel/tire with a negative 1 foot offset.

There is something to be said about the preference of correct offset wheels over spacers, especially bolt-on spacers. However, properly tightened A ā€˜normal’ size spacer isn’t going to be a problem. I look at it like stacked LEGOs. The less LEGOs you have in a stack of the same height is going to be more stable (less points that can flex). With a car and spacers you’re talking about a really short stack of LEGOs, so the instability is incredibly small…as long as everything’s tight.

I wholeheartedly agree that bearing quality/longevitry has decreased over time.
