Z Wave with other Owners on the road...

I was driving out of my neighbourhood and an older 350Z was approaching towards me in the opposing lane. My instinct was to wave at them, and they waved back. When I was part of the S2000 community they always waved at each other. I have owned a Subaru BRZ and WRX and those owners always waved at each other too. I know Corvette owners have done that forever too.

Do Z owners wave at each other when they are on the road ? This is my first Nissan and first Z, only my second day of ownership , lol.

I can't recall ever seeing a Z in my area, at least to where I could acknowledge it with the other driver. The 350Z body styling is different enough from the current Z that I have to admit I don't pay much attention to see if the driver is giving any indication of acknowledging my Z. I really haven't noticed any. I get more attention from non-Z drivers.

I do it, probably close to 10 times since I've owned mine. Only had a few wave back. With my vette and miata basically everyone was doing it.

I think that's pretty common with sports cars and muscle cars. Other C8 owners would wave at me a lot when I was zipping around in mine, and I just had a base model. Strangely, only half the time do Mustang owners wave. Most of them pretend I don't exist unless they have near 4 digit horsepower. I think a lot of Mustang owners are just insecure. Oh! That reminded me... speaking of: When I'd cruise in my C8, every Mustang GT I ran across would act the fool in front of me. Thought that was odd, too.

Yeah Corvette owners have always done that , not sure what to say about Mustang owners they are a different breed, lol. I know Jeep owners are very much apt to wave at each other.

Some time ago I wrote about owning two-stroke SAABs in my youth and that was the first car I owned with a high beam stalk on the column. SAAB drivers would always flash each other. Like that final scene from Freaks... "One of us, one of us!"

I haven't had the opportunity to acknowledge another new Z driver in the year I've had it since I have only seen two and I wasn't driving mine, but I stop and talk to any vintage I can. And people in all kinds of cars signal me which is kinda fun... like the red Audi RS5 that gave me the shaka sign or the blue WRX that displayed prayer hands above their steering wheel or the Vermont State Trooper that switched on his light bar.

Had a guy chase me down while driving his 24 Nismo Z. Invited me to area car meet ups. Ended up with a new friend and membership to the local car club. Where my Performance draws bigger crowds than his Nismo....

I thought it was funny, the same night in only a few minutes driving I seen a 350z and an old 300zx , I live in a very small town, the chance of that is rare. I likely am the only person in town with a new Z.

When I had my Q60, I'd get (and give) waves. Had a few times where someone would come up and talk with me at a gas station or parking lot.

Many times they were driving a clapped out, single exit exhaust 350Z, which I loathe, but I'd play cool. My Q60 was lowered, Infiniti Sports exhaust (big tips, aggressive tone) on staggered Enkei 20" wheels, so apparently some enthusiasts knew the Nissan family connection.

The few other rz34 owners ive seen have been friendly. The 370 guys are hit or miss. The 350 guys just straight up ignore me
