the OEM wheel locks are trash. I paid $175 for these which is almost impossible to remove them

Not sure if those NISMO lug nuts are mag/shank. And I say that only because I have not found NISMO lug nuts that are mag/shank.
If the info in this thread is correct (other than almost everything I said) then those may not be the right lug nuts for those wheels. Did some digging last night and the interwebs is all over the place with this, but the lug nuts on my Z are clearly mag/shank, and I didn't see anyone/anything say that conical seat lug nuts were OK to use in any application designed for mag/shank style.

I have the Nissan OEM wheels on my car, either they came on it from the factory or the dealership made a mistake when they swapped the OEM wheels back on (they originally had put some Nismo wheels with a crazy markup on them while it was on the lot).

In the past, I've used Gorilla lugs with the spline drive so you need an adaptor for all of them, as opposed to a "key" for just 1 lug per wheel.
From what your saying the stealership that swapped your wheel/tire package violated the Monroney Act ie the label on the side window. If memory serves its a federal violation too. That label is there to prevent them from doing exactly what they did and no it's against federal law for them to change anything on said label. With that said, if you bought the car as a used vehicle then disregard.

I just got in a set of the Nissan wheel locks and they worked fine on my 2024 Performance. I was able to get a new set on eBay for a little under $60. Surprised the Z didn’t come with them stock.

FYI, they are tapered and identical to the stock nuts minus the key print on the outside. They do NOT look like the nuts in that parts listing.

If the script of this video was an attempt at humor, it’s not my brand of humor.
Painful.
I do like the product though. May give it a shot so I can run the RAYS nuts I bought last year for my Z33.

Painful.

But thanks for posting!

Nope. The Nissan ones I bought look just like the originals on the car which is to say they have a washer built in and a conical body to mate perfectly with the wheel. The only difference being the machining to mate with the removal tool. Mine were not a part identified for the Z but for a Pathfinder which coincidentally uses the same nuts as the Z.

I think manufacturers like mag shank style because their wheels are specifically made for the vehicle/hubs, which center the wheel. Aftermarket is pretty much all conical, I assume to keep them from having to machine individual wheels for different hub diameters. I’ve always used hub centric rings with aftermarket wheels. Not sure if that’s mandatory, or suggested, or what.

I bought a set of advanced wheel locks. Customer service is unmatched. Had them on my accord and I have them on my F150. They are of a unique design and while they can be beat it takes a very long time in comparison. Basic dealer wheel locks can be undone with a harbor freight kit in under a minute.

Interesting. Never seen those. Definitely unique. I can see how they'd be pretty effective against bolt extractors and other methods. Lord help if you lose that key/socket!
I think they could have come up with a better demonstration than a guy fumbling around with a 16" pipe wrench.

Haha yeah that's a bit goofy. Maybe just trying to show how hard it is to get a grip around it.
