yep and in Canada a base 718 Cayman is 67K. Its the 350HP 4 turbo but its still a porsche.

Exactly what I was thinking - 60 - 70k is getting into Porsche territory . Not to mention all the other performance cars out there

I know. This is ludicrous. There were 1100 porsches that sank to the bottom of the ocean on that freighter. Impossible to get a porsche right now. And the used ones people are holding hostage for insanely inflated prices (complete with no warranty and no financing). Hmmm...a little bit of a wait for a Z with a V6 TT doesn't see so terrible then.

To echo the other poster's comment on here about how many people are ACTUALLY going to acquire a Z car...there is no world in which I would be considering a Z car to only abandon it for a pickup. Yes everyone can decide for what is best for them. Just don't think buying a pick up has ANYTHING to do with why we have all been talking about getting a Z car. Completely unrelated products that do not translate to each other. Unless you are going to buy both.

Scenario doesn't necessarily have to be "abandon it for a pickup". Some people already own vehicles. They might "abandon" the Z in favor of their current sports car. If the Z ends up deemed not a good cost/benefit. In that case, the person still has pavement performance functionality with current vehicle, and might elect to spend limited funds elsewhere.

If they do...they were never the kind of person who was actually going to end up with a Z. We all have other cars. I have a Porsche Cayenne S V8 and it is hella fast (faster than a lot of "sports" cars). But it is not a substitute for a Z in any imaginable world.

I don’t see how come I was tossing up between a land cruiser and a sports coupe given my price range. Decided against the land cruiser due to current wait times. But if a Z pushes past what I’d be willing to pay for it I’m knocking on Toyotas door

I think its fair to say that the more time goes on, the more likely that competing wants or needs are going to come up. I don't think the person buying the Titan expects it to fill the niche that the Z was going to fill, but their priorities have obviously changed.

I’ve looked at other cars, but nothing has the same tug on my heart strings as the Z.

If delivery drags out I will need another car, because at the moment I’m driving my sons (who is getting his licence in July).
Ill probably get a Mazda MX-5 ( Miata to you guys) because it’s more affordable and fun.
BUT in the back of my mind I’m thinking…if it’s not REALLY what I want maybe I should get an EV, especially with petrol prices and things heading that way anyway.
Do I want an EV? Nope not particularly, not even very interested in them at all…but if I can’t have the Z I might be disappointed in getting a MX-5, I need a car, soooo maybe it’s just better to go sensible

Don't do it!!! Before it comes to that think about looking at a good used 370Z? A 370Z Nismo? I would even think about a 300ZX TT. One of the best of all time. An EV will be practical but keep in mind nobody has still figured out how to recycle all these caustic batteries. In fact, the sea can that caught fire and then sank with the 1100 Porsches was started by the lithium batteries in the EVs on board. Lot's of options before completely selling out. With Nissan Corporate in Aus saying there will be some Zs in Dealers by late June early July I will stick it out till then.
If by July there is no cars AND no firm details of when there will be it will be time to reassess …by then I would have had an order in the system for 15 months …I think I deserve some type of answers by then

You are correct. No formal ruling. But EV batteries explode once they experience thermal runaway in their propensity to issue flammable toxins in the air. And are near impossible to extinguish, even in the absence of no oxygen. Now imagine these things polluting the ocean:
