Agreed. Completely. While we all dream about what wheels and exhaust...we don't even have a car in hand.
That is how backyard low jack corporations operate. Nissan would never recover from something like that. So what...they try that now with the Z after announcing a 40K starting point? Only to come out with a 60K sticker? Not going to happen. If they ever attempted something like this...they would completely annihilate their customer base not only for any future Z sales, but they would never launch another GTR.
yep and in Canada a base 718 Cayman is 67K. Its the 350HP 4 turbo but its still a porsche.
Great comments. Fully agree. You can't entertain and a Z and then say you want an SUV or a pickup. This will be my fourth Z and owning the previous models gives me full confidence in this one. I have bought many sports cars sight unseen and am comfortable. The 370Z was a great car. Yes, there was room for improvement. When I bought it new the sales guy swore up and down about blue tooth for my iphone. I got a great deal so I grabbed it. No bluetooth and not even a usb port! I had a mini jack plugging my iphone into the head unit! Still, with even those detractors it was a great, and very focused, car. Not for the faint of heart. If you want a Z you should probably have already driven one. The ZX in 300ZX stood for a "grand tourer" and it was very comfortable. The 370Z was not a ZX. It was a dedicated sports car with a stiff chassis and very direct driving experience. I enjoyed long road trips. But not everyone would. For this reason I know that I want a Z, and will be very curious to see how they've improved damping and the ride.
Thanks mate, that's great to hear. The 370Z always struck me as great value and it still sits in the back of my mind as a viable option if the new Z winds up being too expensive here.
For a long time I would have said that we (in AU) had way more 370Z's on the road than Mustangs, but that has been changing for the last few years. I think I probably see more Mustangs as well now. I do regularly drive past a white 370z Nismo though and that thing catches my eye every time.
To echo the other poster's comment on here about how many people are ACTUALLY going to acquire a Z car...there is no world in which I would be considering a Z car to only abandon it for a pickup. Yes everyone can decide for what is best for them. Just don't think buying a pick up has ANYTHING to do with why we have all been talking about getting a Z car. Completely unrelated products that do not translate to each other. Unless you are going to buy both.
I know. This is ludicrous. There were 1100 porsches that sank to the bottom of the ocean on that freighter. Impossible to get a porsche right now. And the used ones people are holding hostage for insanely inflated prices (complete with no warranty and no financing). Hmmm...a little bit of a wait for a Z with a V6 TT doesn't see so terrible then.
That's not at all what anyone was talking about. We were talking about someone who was eagerly anticipating a Z and then choosing to not go forward with it (due to all the bs) and then choosing a truck. THAT person (another poster on here was suggesting) was NEVER going to end up with a Z. Z fans are die hards and would never choose a Titan over a sports car. If they do...they were never the kind of person who was actually going to end up with a Z. We all have other cars. I have a Porsche Cayenne S V8 and it is hella fast (faster than a lot of "sports" cars). But it is not a substitute for a Z in any imaginable world.
