I expected better results from the Nismo, but at least the chassis looks sorted, and I'm sure would be a heap of fun on the street. It's clearly not going to be competitive on track without a bunch of work, so imo it's a massive fail that it doesn't come with a manual (yet? c'mon nissan)...
It ranges a bit depending on the shop and the coating used, but I'd expect 1000-1500 based on the quotes I got. I used https://www.perthdetailingcentre.com.au/ when I had my Supra coated and got PPF on the front and I thought they were a good choice.
In short, because the 94k that's listed is before taxes/duties are applied, and how they're calculated varies from state to state.
This gives you an idea of what we get slugged with https://practicalmotoring.com.au/car-advice/what-is-driveaway-pricing/
Nice! That was my spec before jumping ship. I don't know what your itemised price is but a ~78.5k LCT value does seem a bit high to me. Hopefully no surprises there 🤞
For reference the Supra GT (96.6k driveaway) works out like below
Proto / dealer options? You must be ~6k over the current threshold then so will get the full discount. I'm in a similar boat (Supra GT 6MT) and I think it works out to a ~1.5k reduction
I don't have mine yet, it's only just gone into production (manual variant). Yeah its hard to get a feel for without being able to at least sit in one. I daily drove an SW20 MR2 for ~10yrs so I wonder if my perception is skewed, but it didn't feel claustrophobic to me. I think it would be fair...
Have sat in both the Z and Supra - ditched a Z order in favour of a Supra after the never ending delays. The Supra is definitely a tighter cabin, though there's plenty of space around the driver imo, I don't think fitting would be a problem. It's a bit harder to get in and out of the Supra given...
Good effort from the Z & Supra drivers, they look to have nailed the Car & Driver figures. I have a feeling the M2 should be taking the win here though. Maybe the extra weight + power is making for a more difficult launch
Imo, if you enjoy the Z4 that much that's what I would get. As much as I hate to say it, the Z and its direct competitors are getting to a level of fast that's not going to be regularly useable on the road.
/2cents
Why Nissan made it so hard to get some character out of the Z exhaust system I don't know. As all the YT videos show, the VR30 can sound great, but it seems like more work than it should be to get there.
I'd review the paperwork first just to know what obligations you and the dealer have. I had a clause in my (MTA WA) contract like
and
So when I cancelled I just shot off an email to the dealer stating that I wanted to terminate the contract and asked for next steps on having the deposit...
Yeah I did a few weeks back. I'd lost confidence on getting a Z any time soon.
I hate to say it but Toyota/BMW/Magna Steyr have a much more sorted production line. I've had a couple of updates from the dealer since then and timelines have continually shortened, now looking at an April...
